It was an inconvenience to us to have to find it a home, but I was thankful that they did try to leave it somewhere they knew it would be taken care of, rather than put the little thing in jeopardy. Ironically, these folks sometimes think they are doing a good deed by dumping them on someone that will handle the problem.

Around here, with an 80% kill rate at the local shelter, the chances may be better with "dumping." And I'm only being partially sarcastic here.

I know of a guy and his wife,in another state from mine, who have over 20 feral cats on their property. They have adopted five as inside pets, and they are trying to feed and attend the others.

I met a lady at my doctor’s office recently who told me about one of her friends who has rural property with a barn. She has taken around the same number of cats at her place. She mentioned an organization that is working with her to help defray costs of fixing them and feeding them.

The problem is truly overwhelming everywhere, even with organizations and individuals that are trying to work toward alleviating the problem. Wish every story could turn out like the one you posted for this thread, where every last animal was adopted, but, sadly, it can’t.
