Caylee's Grandparents 'Devastated' as Investigators Find More Bones

Investigators found a trail of bones over the weekend in a wooded area near the Orlando home of missing child Caylee Anthony as the FBI worked to identify a skull discovered there last week.

The new bones were located in an area less than a half-mile from the home the young child shared with her mother and grandparents, George and Cindy Anthony, and a lawyer for the couple said the family was preparing for the worst.

"They're devastated," Brad Conway told MyFOXOrlando.com. "They're trying to deal with this the best they can. They're realistic about the probability that it's Caylee, but they pray it's not."

Orange County Sheriff’s Office officials confirmed more bones were discovered at the site over the weekend as investigators sifted through soil.

I want to know why they didn't ask about her the whole month before she was listed as missing.

According to the reports I have read, George and Cindy were constantly asking Casey to put Caylee on the phone during that month when Casey wasnt living with them. Casey always had an excuse, like she's sleeping, she's with the sitter, etc. That's why Cindy screamed something like I've already given you a month when she called 911. She had been getting suspicious something was up.

What did Casey expect, Caylee to get cold out in that wet field while DEAD?! I guess I’m glad I don’t understand!

These Grandparents obviously in denial; and sadly, too protective of their daughter as this unfolded; but see no good reason here; to diminish their loss or their grief. And it is not over. . .now their sociopath daughter will be fighting for her life for the next umpteen years.

Would not take a bet here as to how these Grandparents choose to follow-up here; as the rest of this horrific story plays out. (Am sure the daughter will try and convince them; this is all their fault.)

Of course you dont understand! You’re not a sociopath.

I guess this might be some kind of defense mechanism whereby the sociopathic mother tries to convince herself that even though she murdered her child, she still loved her (as society expects), because she covered her with a blanket as if putting her to bed at night. Of course it’s absurd, when a child is dead, it’s just for show.

I’ve been following this closely and I feel sorry for these grandparents. They are wacky and not very bright, but I think they did love their granddaughter. Their daughter is a true sociopath — watching the tapes of her in prison is chilling — and is more cunning than her parents.

Accurate summary of the grandparents’ actions. I feel sorry for them. I hope the public keeps focused on child's mother, who is the true villainess in this story.

Devestated, huh? Methinks that’s another word meaning “peeing in their pants”, knowing that this evidence is going to link them too.

I’m wondering whose fingerprints are on that duct tape. A talking head over the weekend said that fingerprints on duct tape don’t go away................

"Is that harsh?"

Obviously the state of Florida must think so. They're not seeking the death penalty.

They routinely checked in with their daughter and asked about their grandaughter for the first month she was missing.

I don't just ask about my grandchildren, I ask to speak to them. I rarely speak to my son or daughter-in-law without asking to speak to the children. So I find it odd that the grandparents would only inquire about their granddaughter, but that's just me.

“They’re not seeking the death penalty. “

That is not what I have heard. Can you provide a source?

OH, they haven’t up to now because they had no body, but now they may be able to show more of the necessary elements to go for death!

Long before, I would have checked out the supposed babysitter to find out what kind of person was taking care of my granddaugter so often. All they had was Casey’s word that there was such a person.

I remember watching a show about a case where the child was found stuffed in a black trash bag in an outside garbage. The investigators found when the bag was examined microscopically, the production ridges on the roll from the bags still in the house matched the ridges on the bag with the child.

The mother was convicted.

After Casey is found guilty, take her to Fl. State Prison in Stark. Strap her to a bed in the general population area and remove all guards from the area. Wait 24 hours and ask her how she feels.

Is that harsh?

12:25 p.m.
Brad Conway, attorney and spokesman for George and Cindy Anthony, reads a statement from the Anthony family, asking for continued privacy.

In the statement, George and Cindy Anthony say if the remains are Caylee’s, the babysitter Casey Anthony says she left Caylee with may have played a role in her death.

I Will Celebrate IF George & Cindy get arrested !

I agree that the grandparents have hindered the investigation. I can’t imagine their stress and grief.

They said she had reasonable reasons for her not to be available. Napping, playing outside, at the sitter’s. She told several people that the baby was at the beach with the sitter for several days. It seemed plausible to people invovled.

I can see why that made sense to the grandparents, much easier to believe that your granddaughter was sleeping than your daughter murdered her.

I thought the grandparents KNEW where Caylee was and WHO had her and that THEY were being watched.....and I also thought that they had solid leads that little Caylee was in Atlanta at a shopping mall?

you can certainly see where "mother" Casey gets her arrogance and her ability to lie without flinching.....her parents have raised a monster that they have coddled and protected and bent over backwards for and spoiled over the years...little precious Casey could do no wrong...

idiots...

it could be duct tape, or the type of plastic bag, or maybe a receipt from one of the many, many, many stores precious Casey was allowed to spend her stolen money in......
