Mr. Chamberlain's rebuke to the Germans was provoked by Berlin in a newspaper that last week called Earl Baldwin "a guttersnipe."The straw that broke the camel's back.
This time he did not use the word "appeasement," which is no longer so popular as it used to be.
Munich pretty much finished it as a value-neutral term.

I don't know how you could get much more pathetic.
WAR is now just NINE MONTHS AWAY, and the British prime minister is complaining about the word "guttersnipe" in the German press?
And the German "press" takes OFFENSE to the complaint??
These people will soon be killing each other by the tens of thousands, but for now they act like, well how can we even describe it?
