When did everyday life become "time is of the essence"?

I use www.jott.com

It does all that and more....using your voice. Free and inexpensive pay versions. It’s a great tool.

You can just use email on most services if you know the cell phone number you want to text:

areacodephonenumber@message.alltel.com - for alltel
areacodephonenumber@vtext.com - for verizon

I'm sure other services offer this too, in addition to a web page from which you can send text messages to any cell phone on their network.

use http://www.alltel.com/wps/portal/AlltelPublic/SendATextMessage to reach anyone on alltel's network and https://text.vzw.com/customer_site/jsp/messaging_lo.jsp for verizon.

Amen, amen and amen!! For nearly 80 years I have survived without being instantly available to everybody and for what additional time I have left on this earth, my cell phone remains off, available to me in an emergency, much to the dismay of my children who insist upon being at the beck and call of everybody.
