I understand exactly what you mean- great family, and even though I didn’t always agree with the politics I thought Gov. King was a fine governor- just as you said he always thought about the state and the people when making decisions- not himself.

I thought Alice was a fine person and I knew her passion was to help children- not just talk about it like many politicians and their wives do.

Unlike our current governor.

BTW, I don't recall but seeing his wife Barbara mentioned or seen but very few times during the whole of Richardson's tenure. Either she really shies from attention or he wants all of it himself.

Other thoughts: Married 62 years; you married a partner for life back then. I really expected Bruce's health problems (hip replacement and other things) to catch up with him first. It will be lonely without her and her support. He will greatly need family and friends from now on.
