that's rather vindictive
Florida has been giving up an average of 13 points/game and ranked #5 in NCAA scoring defense.
OU has been giving up an average of 25 points/game and is ranked #57 in NCAA scoring defense.
#5 vs #57 in scoring defense.
The OU team is going into the national championship game with the worst-ranked defense IN HISTORY of any team contending for a national championship in a bowl game.
All Big XII pass defenses are shoddy because they play Big XII offenses. Believe me, UTexas will not have a problem with OSU's passing game.
A quarter of the 5A high schools in Texas have a better passing offense than OSU.
Texas 48 - OSU 23
Florida and Texas. Then Florida.
Mack put himself in an unsupportable position.
According to the Texas line of thinking, Texas' ten point win against OU on a neutral field should count, but Florida's eleven point win against Alabama on a neutral field wasn't such a big deal......
NU v. Missou
OU’s problem is they can’t deliver in the big bowl games of late. Every year it’s an overhyped OU wilting in January. Florida wins by 10.
Orange Bowl Yawn Fest
Cincinnati 24 - Virginia Tech 21

Believe me, I know. I went to the Tech game expecting to loose. The defense that showed up that night was great. I do think a lot of the problem with our defense has been lack of focus because the games were over so early. Most were decided in the 1st quarter. I’m sure you know we set a record of 5 games over 60 points, what you probably don’t know it the game before those 5 we had 55 points, all of which came in the 1st half. In the tech game the total yardage was 625-297, then we let them drive 99 yards (1/4 of there total) at the end againt 2nd & 3rd teamers. The point is sometimes stats don’t tell the whole story. We’ve had lots of injuries on defense which have increased our depth and we should be healthy for the game. The real weakness we have in kick coverage.
Kinda hard to beat teams that won't play you, because they would rather schedule an FCS team like The Citadel than a non-BCS FBS team.
By your logic, shouldn’t Bama go to the Championship?
GO Ducks
Scoring Offense: OU #1, UF #3
Scoring Defense: UF #5, OU #57
In other words,
#1 offense against #5 defense
and
#3 offense against #57 defense
This matchup has all the signs of a typical Stoops bowl flop.
Glad to see Rutgers getting at least one vote but they basically threw away the first half of their season and don’t deserve a ranking. The only hope they have of being ranked next year is to get a decent quarterback and decent receivers, though a clone of Ray Rice could help, too.
Well, the Pac 10 has been better than the SEC over the last ten years and Boise State and Utah beat two decent Pac 10 teams. No doubt Boise State would be near the top of the SEC.
Cincinatti and VA Tech Penal Institution going to a “big” bowl while TX Tech and Boise St. get left out is a flipping crime.
This nonsense with the “special” conferences has got to go. The Big 12 should have sent three teams to top tier bowls and the talent level in equal to that in the “(no longer that big) east”.
Their defense is near NFL caliber.
The what????
What in the world is a Ute??? ;-)
Ah yes the algore version of analyzing football. Those poor Canes haven't been the same since they lost that game.
I see the SEC/Miami/Big 12 fans are already in their ultra obnoxious mold. LOL!
