Got a question here but I want to be careful on how I phrase it. Let me come off and say I do not want to disrespect General James Jones. I have the utmost respect for Marines. They do things and put up with stuff a lot of can't. So here goes.
I consider Obama a leftist, Marxist thug. A street punk who conned his way into the Presidency with massive help by a compliant media. You can look at his past and see that he has never accomplished anything of merit in his life.
General Jones - from what little I know of him - is an outstanding Marine. He has put his life on the line many times and has served his country with honor and courage.
Now my question. Why would someone of General Jones stature agree to work in the administration of a person such as Obama? Obama has stood for everything General Jones stands against.
General Jones is an outstanding Marine who has apparently served our nation well. It’s a good sign that his is the NSA as this may be the good news that the reality of the intel briefing to Obama caused more than the headache and queasiness we saw after.
That must have been one helleva reality check. As such, the RX is clear and General Jones is the answer.
We should relish this as perhaps the best bit of news we could hope for frankly.
Oswald is one name that quickly comes to mind.
Murtha is another.
So,IMO,if General Jones proves himself in the coming months to be in the same league as Murtha then we shouldn't be *completely* surprised.

This Could Be Interesting [Jonah Goldberg]
From the IHT:
Yet all three of his choices - Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton as the rival turned secretary of state, General James Jones, the former NATO commander as national security adviser and Robert Gates, the current and future defense secretary - were selected in large part because they have embraced a sweeping shift of resources in the national security arena.
The shift, which would come partly out of the militarys huge budget, would create a greatly expanded corps of diplomats and aid workers that, in the vision of the incoming Obama administration, would be engaged in projects around the world aimed at preventing conflicts and rebuilding failed states.
Me: Well, that civilian national security force has to start somewhere.
Maybe a better question is why would Obama choose Jones.
Good grief, why would you slander the General with absurd comparisons to Oswald and Murtha. He’s got a forty year military record, plus a couple post retirement assignments for the Bush administration. Simply criticize the many failures you find there. If you can’t find any, that’s the end of it.
When I was growing up, people told me that honset people do not associate with crooks. That you could tell the character of a person by whom they associated with.
I fokkowed their advice,I see now where I was wrong about President-Elect Obama.
From this pont forward, I will be a supporter of Obama.
I now regret not voting for him.
We are screwed for sure.
I would like to know Gen. Jones’ stances on at least these four issues:
1. Will he be for or against Obama’s plan to attempt to secure defeat in Iraq by a premature withdrawal?
2. How is he on the “don’t ask, don’t tell” matter? Will he rightly advise Obama that allowing open homosexuality in our Armed Forces is detrimental to unit cohesion and good order and discipline, or will he look the other way?
3. What about U.S. Forces under U.N. command? That question was NEVER posed to Obama, but Clinton experimented with it in Somalia to disastrous results.
4. How about the subjecting of U.S. troops to the International Court of Justice? Bush has stood strongly against it? Again, a question never posed to Obama, so where does Jones stand?
Until those and other questions are answered, I’ll withhold judgement.
An interesting theory going around is that Obama wants to spend all his time on socializing America from within. He does not want to get caught up in foreign affairs so he simply will let the experts deal with it.
“Bush has stood strongly against it?”
Typo on the question mark intended — meant a period, there.
God, I need more coffee or something. Should’ve said, “typo on the question mark. Intended to leave a period there.”
Sorry about the confusion. :-)*
Country does come first but I would refuse to serve if the leader of the country is a Marxist thug with a background of working against everything this country stands for. I would instead work for the opposition in order to bring the country back around.
I have a problem with Newt Gingrich. Newt is for Newt, not for the country.
Please don’t mention a good soldier like Jones in the same sentence as Douglas Macarthur, the worst general of all time.
Murtha represents proof positive that at least one filthy, worthless piece of excrement has recently risen to rank of Colonel (or was it LTC?) in the USMC.
The fact that Jones was chosen by Hussein for this post fills me with dread.Yes,the General may well work for the genuine interests of this country while under Hussein's direct "command".But Hussein is anything but stupid. His having chosen Jones *strongly* suggests to me that he sees Murtha-like qualities in him.And if Hussein proves to be as good a judge of "character" as I suspect him to be then that would pretty much guarantee that Jones is,in fact,a scumbag.Like Murtha.
In short,I seriously question the basic character of *anyone* who agrees to fill a top post under Osama Hussein Obama.
I met him once. He sees himself as something of a proconsul cum warrior-diplomat. He likes people to know he speaks fluent French. Jones looks like a Marine out of central casting. He has an ego and likes to play the contrarian. For me, the jury is still out. I hope he puts country first above his own personal ambitions.
I would prefer James EARL Jones. He has a much better voice.
No, I am not asking that question. I am asking why a Marine patriot would align himself with a Marxist thug.
You are off base. Gay State is not comparing Jones with those two. He is saying just because you are a Marine doesn’t make you a good guy for life. He gave examples of two infamous individuals who served as Marines. Gay State then went on to say that we will have to wait and see how Jones will do.
