Free Music For Christmas From The Vatican (MP3's from the Holy See)
The Vatican ^ | November 27, 2008

Here are two links at the Vatican's website that you can go to for downloading free music for Christmas as well as other occasions.

Hymns for the Celebrations of the Liturgical Year, Pontifical Musical Chorus of the Sistine Chapel

On this page, the links to the MP3 files look like this

It will probably be easiest to hover your mouse cursor over the note picture, right-click your mouse and select "save target as" to define where you want the file saved.

When the file is finished downloading it will be available to be played on your computer's MP3 player.  Windows users have Windows Media Player which plays MP3's just fine.

Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music - The Musical Offering in MP3

On this page the music file links look like this

Introitus: Puer natus

Follow the same procedure as above except hover your mouse cursor over the underlined / italicized text

Thanks so much for posting the links. I’m one of those new on the learning curve, so I appreciate the instructions. I still have yet to learn exactly how to download from my iTunes to my iPod, and get it into the correct Playlist. But I’ll learn it, eventually! ;o)

You're quite welcome, and I hope that you and yours will enjoy the music  :-)

As to your technical concerns, I must sadly confess that the portable MP3 player that I have is not an actual IPod...it's a 'generic' one which uses Windows Media Player and not ITunes for all playlist generation and sync functions.   I am hesitant to go through the steps involved with synchronizing music and generating playlists for my particular player when they will most likely not be applicable to your situation and may possibly end up causing more confusion than help as a result.  In fact, when I connect my MP3 player to the stoatputer, ITunes doesn't recognize it as being there....the "Sync to IPod" commands in the menus remain grayed out...probably because there's not an actual IPod connected  :-)  I sincerely apologize, but it appears that I'm not going to be able to help unless I were to run out and buy an IPod  :-)

I'm wondering if there might be an IPod owner who would be willing to help SuziQ with her question?

Hey, very nice! THANKS! Funny, I live in South Florida, but I'm so ready for Christmas.

You're quite welcome, and I hope that you and yours will enjoy the music.  :-)

I think that this year in particular Christmas will bring a time of much-need healing and joy for all of us regardless of where we live.

Sunday Afternoon Christmas Music Bump

Hoping that everyone is burning CD's of this wonderful, uplifting music to give to friends and relatives and perhaps considering burning a few extra to give to nursing homes and assisted-care facilities near you.

If you know how to burn a CD, you have the ability to bring tremendous joy to many people this Christmas.

If you have the hardware and software to burn a CD but aren't sure how to do it, please don't be shy about asking for help.  If I don't know the answer to your question I'm sure that someone else here will  :-)
