Former adult star working at local school (Former female porn star, that is)

VINELAND, N.J. - November 21, 2008 - (WPVI) -- She was an adult film star who went by the name Crystal Gunns. But she reportedly says that's part of her past.

She now an aid at D'Ippolito Elementary in Vineland, New Jersey, and that has some parents furious.

"I understand it's her personal life, but I don't feel someone with that background should be working with young children at all," said preschool teacher Maria Martin.

Crystal Gunns is apparently retired. She's now Louisa Tuck, a cafeteria and playground aide at D'Ippolito Elementary.

District officials were tipped off about the situation a few weeks back.

They were stunned.

A background check turned up nothing. They wanted to take action, but lawyers advised them not to. Tuck hadn't done anything illegal.

Some parents agree.

"It's in her past. We all do things in our past. And as long as she's not interfering with any kids, I don't see any problem with it," said Raul Cordova of Vineland, N.J.

Action News was unable to reach Tuck. She also works at the local YMCA. A co-worker described her as a great person.

In a interview with a local newspaper, Tuck defended her ability to work around children despite her past career.

(edit)

The school superintendent says the district is investigating all of it's options to see what sort of recourse it has.

If this is about morality, our president-elect has admitted to doing crack, and he's our president. Does that make him a bad person?"[1]

Yes. Smoking crack indicates someone is a bad person.

I’m the grammar police, too, and many comments written by some of our fellow posters bother me, but I missed that one. Kudos.

My sister’s 13yr. old stepdaughter is trying to be a bona fide Jersey girl - bird doody eye make-up and highlights in her beautiful black Irish hair.

Porn stars aren’t always the evil horrible people you make them out to be. Ron Jeremy posts here, and if you want to see a decent retired porn star check out Asia Carrera’s site and read about her life and what she is up to now.

People change. For all anyone here knows she is a decent person who got out of the business after she took a good look at what she was doing and decided to better herself. Nothing wrong with someone doing that IMHO, seems like that is what she is doing now.

I agree with posters who have said that she, like everyone else, deserves a second chance, but it seems to me that if she wanted a real second chance, an opportunity to atone in some way, she would FIRST have the implants taken out. The skin is stretched very thin, the blood vessels are obvious through it. She made a very bad decision about the size. After they’re taken out, she would need to have much skin removed and a new, smaller set put in.

Atonement is all well and good. She could get any no. of other jobs. She could be a cop, for instance, on the vice squad. I’m sure she has some insights. She could do any no. of other things. I don’t see why she had to choose to be around children, especially considering her completely unnatural look that is sure to raise some questions.

Well, seriously. Those implants look like they came from Hal’s House of Bondo.

I see no difference between porn stars and prostitutes. The latter have sex in more or less private settings, the former are paid for sex while claiming that they will let other watch the act.

Anyone who acts of their free will in a porn flick is demented, not somebody I would allow near my children.

I guess people seem to have forgotten about those Christian values such as forgiveness, redemption, salvation. I guess the teachings of Christ seem to have fallen upon deaf ears as rain upon stones.

I always chuckle when obvious agnostics start preaching false Christian values. Nice try, but the decisions we make have consequences. Forgiveness is a great Christian act and not to forgive a sincerely penitent person would be a failing. However, it would be a far greater Christian failing to naively put others in danger by ignoring history. The fact that this pervert apparently maintains an active porn website (allegedly linked in post #94) means that her unrepentant past is still part of her shameful present.

I certainly don't want former child molesters, prostitutes, drug dealers, pornographers, or other social deviants working with children. It doesn't matter if the scandalous behavior was legal at the time and place it was committed or not. Their behavior hurt individuals and society. There are many other occupations for such a deviant that do not involve children. Since this appears to be a public school using tax money, the appointment of someone like her or anyone else with such a perverted background to this kind of job would naturally be opposed by me and other responsible parents and taxpayers, Christian or not.

Wasn’t preaching anything, I was pointing out obvious hypocrisy. There are values behind the teachings, among those nearest the top is the importance of spiritual above the literal word. You don’t reach out to the sick among the well.
I’m I too understand YOU are the arbiter of those who are worthy of salvation and those who are to be damned? It must be a heavy burden upon you, brother. If this woman seeks to be saved and her actions are of good heart, she is saved. PERIOD.

So according to you, someone who repents and turns their life around should still be ostracized and vilified for their past misdeeds? You are the Soup Nazi of sin: "NO FORGIVENESS FOR YOU!"
This woman is actually an example of what immoral people should do which is to stop being immoral and change their lifestyle.

"The YMCA has been great to me. They are a Christian place that believes that people can change. I'm sorry I had to put them through this," Tuck said.

I’m speculating that some of the discontent is coming from the NEA’s teachers, who thought they’d cornered the market on the sex-with-students business.
