We have missionary families visit our church often, most of whose kids are home-schooled. They fit in perfectly with the other children in Sunday School and Junior Church, and also can carry on intelligent conversations with the adults, some who have PhDs. They’re always poised and polite.

Today’s homeschoolers have networks, clubs and organizations for socializing.

The whole "socialization" argument has ALWAYS been a joke.

I'd much rather have kids who are "socialized" to communicate and interact with adults than with their own peer group. You'd be hard pressed to come up with an example of "positive peer pressure" in a public school.

Joy Behar has some kind of logic short circuit.

She says homescholled kids are demented and scared of other kids, yet she advocates Obama’s children being schooled in the White House, and other kids being brought in to visit and play with the, there.

How about Troy Tebow, first college sophomore to win the Heisman, homeschooled through high school, goes on mission trips and speaks to prisons in his spare time.

In fact, it’d be a double whammy because when his mom was pregnant, drs recommended she have an abortion due to an infection.
