I saw the first showing today. About 50 people. Some marines and a sprinkling of old folks. Some senior women without men, probably looking at Craig.
Posting to see if people want to chat.
The plot included the US and England keeping a blind eye to a coup in Bolivia. General comment: we need the oil, so it doesn't matter much who's in charge in So America. Felix Leiter remains loyal and fighting for truth and justice.
PS: In all the wrap up in the end, the governments come back to their senses and Bond and M have saved the day (is that a spoiler?).

Dr. D’oh?
Nobody says, “Bond. James Bond” like Sean Connery. He IS James Bond to me. I must have seen all his Bond flicks like 15 times.
I did like Pierce Brosnan and Timothy Dalton, though. Roger Moore was a bit “tubby” for a British secret agent.
Fav is still “Goldfinger.” The score alone (which I bought) is worth the price of admission. “No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die!” Great Gert Frobe line.
The new guy is raw but has talent. I am waiting to see this one too. Check him out in “Layer Cake.”

You are correct and the rules must be adhered to.
Never noticed that before. A new movie role coming up.
[Never noticed that before.]
I never cared for him from the start. The previous ones were all good looking. If we want some fantasy, at least let them be good looking ones, lol.
I think his look matches the unfinished newbie that they are writing into the role. It’s the beginning. I think that was a good idea.
PS: my choice was Clive Owen
Maybe so. I haven’t seen the movie, just pictures of him. Many pictures. Different tastes for different people.
Oh, he does look like Putin in a way.
Here is a very good James Bond comedy sketch done to the tune.

I saw him in Layer Cake, a Brit gangster flick mentioned by someone above. I liked his role in that.
Lol, thanks. Funny how the guy manipulated the stuffed animal!!
I can.
I don’t always agree with MM’s reviews, but he was absolutely right about this one, with only one exception: use of older things (boat, plane) was cool, not a problem.
But the cinematography was TERRIBLE. Great action scenes (I guess), lots happening (from the sound), but the photography was jumbled and oversliced and confusing, and all the great stunts and work was WASTED.
Very confusing plot, not about much.
TERRIBLE villain.
(SPOILER ALERT)
So he’s this limp, languid, licorice-whip of a guy with NO personality, right? Bond just overcomes, what, FOUR fellow-agents in an elevator, handcuffed? But then this wimp of a bad guy has an extended PEER-type fight with Bond, and ends up conscious. Sheesh.
I didn’t hate it, but I was disappointed. All that money, not well-spent.
..
Craig’s face is aging at lightspeed too
Roger Moore only made his first Bond flick at age 48 and made the most 007 films
To bad FR software does not enable embedded tags and JavaScript and .swf tags like MSN does - I could shake up this thread a little
Yes, he does have a very craggy face, lol.
That Barbara Bach is very dark looking in the picture above. Wonder what nationality she is.
I loved Roger Moore as Bond — and Connery of course —
my favorite Bond movies were From Russia with Love and probably Goldfinger — after that, I kind of lost interest.......... oh yeah, I’m old.
