Sarah Palin represents a huge historic leap forward for women.
(snip)
But Sarah Palin can come across as utterly unready to lead the world or even find the world on a map and that doesnt reflect poorly on the rest of us.
It only means that she doesnt have enough mind grapes or thoughtsicles, as Tracy Morgan refers to brain droppings on 30 Rock, to be president soon.

I liked Dowd’s columns ever so much more when they were safely behind the NYTimes “premium content” firewall. It was almost like they didn’t exist at all.

I heard Dowd’s voice for the first time on the radio yesterday. It was this high-pitched, whiny, nasal, fingernails on chalkboard voice that grated the nerves down to my toes.
No wonder she does print media.

OK, I'll show my ignorance here....
Why do Catherine Zeta Jones pics always show up on MoDo threads?
Not that I'm complaining....just curious.

At one time way back in the Clinton days, Michael Douglas and Maureen Dowd were an item. Reportedly to keep Dowd pro-Clinton during his .. ahem, political struggles. Shortly after Douglas dropped her like a hot rock and took up with CZJ. So we here at FR use any MoDo posting to remind her of that and of course, drool over Catherine.

I dated a girl for about a year that looked just like that. Unfortunately, she didn't like shooting, hunting and fishing so I had to make a tough choice.
I am MUCH better off from what I hear.

Mo Dowdy was dating Michael Douglas just before he dropped her to marry Catherine Zeta Jones. It is believed that much of her present bitterness -- which shines through in every catty article she writes -- stems from that.
FReepers, being a caring and sympathetic lot, often wish to remind others of Ms. Dowd's sorry fate by displaying Ms. Jones' pictures, which are (you must admit) rather engaging.

On the bright side, at least MoDo isn’t trying to wow us with her ‘mastery’ of Latin . . .

ExxonMobil, ConnocoPhillips and BP who had been sitting on their butts for years not wanting to build a much needed gas pipeline If it was legitimately "needed" then the companies would have built it on their own initiative. The fact that political pressure was needed to make the project happen shows that it was a Bridge-to-Nowhere type boondoggle.

The big 3 oil companies didn't build it because for them it was economically motivating enough. Crude is/was making them their money on the North Slope. Most of the natural gas they were either burning off or sinking back into the ground.
Now you tell me, in your own thoughts, if you think a 6%-8% increase in natural gas supply to the USA is needed, or not needed. I'll would like your thoughts on that question.

Poor Ms. Dowd, she really has turned bitter once her eggs dried up and found no man willing to fertilize them. (paraphrasing) "Her womb is a rocky place where seed can find no purchase".
