Julie London had a cool, bright, and velvety voice. Simply sublime. No synthesised voices or computers modulating the voice.

For me, Julie London’s fine voice is unmistakable but I’m fascinated by the aquarium! And for those from the TV generation, Julie London had a second career as Nurse Dixie McCall in “Emergency”, along with her musician husband Bobby Troup (who composed “Route 66”). Ahhh....a trivia-gasm...

aha!
Maybe you haven't seen the commercial. It's just one of those things that makes you stop and listen when you first hear it on TV. Just an AD.

yeah, funny how the air lines seem to pick familiar songs that are over 30 years old as music for their commercials.
But more interesting is how well they sound over rereremastered sound for HDTV...*grins*...

Many years ago when I was 16 or so, the late night DJ would play Julie London songs for about an hour around midnight, sang me to sleep many nights.

Got to love BA! British Airlines = Gin ‘n Tonic party masquerading as an airline. I love their tastes. (heads off to iTunes)

Thanks Doogle.
