Salma Hayek may soon need rehabilitation for an addiction.
The actress, who gave birth to daughter Valentina in 2007, says she can't stop breastfeeding.

She said: "I'm like an alcoholic. It is like, I don't care if I cry, I don't care if I am fat, I am just going to do it for one more week, one more month, and then when I see how much good it is doing her and I can't stop."

"...Salma Hayek: I'm Addicted to Breastfeeding..." So was I. But then, tragically, I turned 40 and my wife left. I'm fully weaned now.

Once a baby starts teething the breast feeding has no benefit. It is called nature....

No worries. She’s a good moma. And I doubt she’ll go to kindergarten with her child. She’ll probably get pregnant with the next baby, soon.
I breast fed each of mine about 2 years. Quit and restarted around 22 months, because the baby and I were so miserable, then sort of tapered off.
One child, when told the milk was all gone, pointed to the other side and asked, “Water?” We quit that day.
Daddy says he remembers being weaned. Grandmother said he was 3.

I remember seeing Salma on David Letterman (AFAIK) when she talked about women action stars being the new hot thing. So they were trying her out for some “action” roles and the on set trainer was telling her “you punch and kick like a girl”; “but I AM a girl”. He then asked what she did for exercise, biking, running, etc. She said “I go for walks and horseback ride”. The trainer was “No running? No swimming? No weight lifting?”. “Nope, none of that stuff ....walking ... horseback riding.”
David Letterman's reply “You look like THAT with just walking and horseback riding? Congrats, you've just made every woman in America HATE you!”

I was “militant” for myself - not really, too polite to breastfeed in church. However, for everyone else, “Whatever makes moma happiest is best,” and “If moma’s not happy, no one’s happy.”

I’m afraid you’re absolutely wrong.
my youngest had a first tooth at 3 1/2 months, about one a month after that - oldest’s first tooth was at nearly 9 months.

Brava for you, seriously. I admire the determination in others, but to have it supposed that you "aren't a real mother" if you don't (which was the path she took) is unconscionable.

Go argue with your doctor, it has to do with the maturity of the immune system once it is developed the teeth start to come. It varies for each child.

I’m a family doctor - 3 1/2 months is not old enough for anything but milk - moma’s or a good formula. 5 or 6 months is the earliest that other food should be introduced.
