Sure...But these statements give us the ammo we need to fight it...And the fact that they pulled it from general public consumption is the fact that it is going to be something they are not quite ready to introduce without an extreme amount of public indoctrination...
And it’ll help to blow up every single incident of shootings incidents to play off the emotions of those who accept the indoctrination...
This is an ongoing battle...And a war that will never end...

Huh? They didn't waste any time during the Clinton years! They went too far to the left and got thrown out on their asses. That's what they learned.
I'll eat my words if we see any significant gun control legislation prior to the 2010 mid-term elections. After 2010? Who knows. If America elects even more democrats to congress anything can happen.
Clinton had a much more modest early agenda than Obama’s, and most of its left-wing elements failed: his stimulus package was defeated, his healthcare package was defeated, and he was forced to abandon gays in the military.
He did get through the assault weapons ban and a tax increase, but each was positioned as a moderate measure (anti-crime, anti-deficit, respectively) rather than a left-wing transfer-of-wealth measure.
The greatest victory of Clinton’s early years was NAFTA, and that was not only not a left-wing measure but was staunchly opposed by the organized left.

Yes, well I dont think he has much room to maneuver on this given the Heller ruling. He’ll have to be very careful unless he wants the SC to shoot him down...like they did w/ the DC city council.
I think he’ll have to wait for some real or contrived emergency to do his bad work.

In the mean time the gun lobby should conduct preemptive strikes. For sure no one who cares about this country should become fatalistic about this. Its NOT a done deal and the commies have a LONG road ahead of them to get any gun control enacted. Its time to fight, not give up.
