When things go good, people predict Dow 20,000, when things go bad, people predict the end of civilization.

The only way those things could happen would involve a massive military attack on the US.

I don't mean to interject religion on this thread, but I received something from an Army Chaplain's wife named Beth just prior to seeing this thread, and it's eerie...Regardless of what you believe, or who you believe in, this sort of warning is coming from all sides.

On June 27th and 28th I attended a women's conference in Atlanta called Deeper Still. I was one of three speakers the others being Kay Art hur and Priscilla Shirer. I looked forward to a special time of worship and having God convict me of my sins and lead me to areas in my life where I need to change. I have been to similar conferences for years, although none this large and with so many well-known speakers. There were over 20,000 women in attendance at the Phillips Arena in Atlanta - they said it was the largest crowd ever.

I had an idea of what to expect from the conference, but nothing prepared me for what actually happened. I feel led to share my experience with family and friends. This is important, so stay with me!

When Kay Arthur took the stage you could just tell that her spirit was heavy and there was a certain 'heaviness' in the atmosphere even before she started to speak. She said that she had been literally physically sick to have to bring us this message and right out the gate she said, 'We are in grave danger.' She said that God had revealed to her that a literal famine is coming to Americ a.. Physical, not spiritual. She said that God is moving in judgment against our nation. I know I can't describe this well enough, but the atmosphere was ominous.

Kay is a seasoned speaker and she had to BATTLE to get through her message. She stumbled over scriptures and had an extremely difficult time. At times I was almost expecting her to collapse. At one point she just had to stop and pray.

There was no person, myself included, that I could see who did not have tears streaming down their faces. As you may know, Kay Arthur is normally a very confident, composed speaker, but she was literally in a spiritual battle and it was taking place right before my eyes. I have never seen anything like it.

She went on to give 7 things that Christians must do during this time and I am going to give those to you now:

1. Return to God. Jeremiah 4:3 - Break up the fallow ground - return to Me. Repent. Get on your face before God and ask him to break your heart with the things that break His heart.

2. Mourn. Jeremiah 9:17-18 and Ezekiel 9 - It is time to weep because our nation's sin is incredible.

3. Pray. Jeremiah 36:7 - Pray fervently, passionately for America.

4. Love God's Word. Jeremiah 20 - You MUST love the Word of God and be in the Word of God. I was particularly convicted here because I know I have not been as deeply in His Word as I need to be. She said we must get serious about this.

5. Love others as Jesus loved them. Jeremiah 31:3 and John 13:34.

6. Introduce people to Jesus Christ. It's time to get serious about this. This is no time for timidity. Jeremiah 31:31; Jeremiah 33:1-9, 15, 17.

7. Rest. If you will do these things, then rest in the fact that you have done God's will. She said that it is going to be vitally important for us to get enough physical rest. She went on to say that God has not given us a spirit of fear and tha t if we are obedient to Him, we will be protected. She said to read Ezekiel 14 over and over until you understand it. This is what God will do if a country turns against Him. She said that this is going to be a calamity (she used the word calamity in such a way that you knew this is going to be no small thing for our country), and gave many more scripture references, but what I have given you are the main points that she made.

I hope you know that I would not have sent this to you if I had not been profoundly affected by it and feel it is of great importance to share it. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope you will do with this information what you feel led by God to do. Love in Christ Jesus, Beth

Barak Obama will save America. Yes we can. Change we can believe in. He has the audacity of hope. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.

Good news - the US has a more diverse abundance of natural resources than any other country. We may very well be de-civilized in that our banking industry has to be rebuilt from the ground up, but our bounty of natural resources aren’t going anywhere. Second, this is a global crisis, not an American one. When we get punched, our enemies get punched twice. Third, we’re going to be fine. You guys in the cities (and the Democrats) will have it harder than rural areas (and Republicans), but you’re not going to starve. Buy real assets and get out of stocks/bonds and intangibles for a while, be smart, be kind, work hard and we’ll be fine.

Welcome to Free Republic, since 10-13-08.

Many of us here put God first, and those of us who do need not worry. Whatever happens, His Hand is there. He is in the whirlwind.

If he judges America for abandoning her first love, then so be it. I am resigned to that possibility. We’ll still stand in the breach, pointing to Him and our First Principles.

This is the problem when government policy is predicated on an assumption of continual economic growth. Instead of letting the market work and allowing prices to adjust as market participants adjust, the government intervenes.

But the economy must always grow. How else are all of the goodies promised to the public going to be paid? Well, the government can always print money, but at some point inflation and interest rates will start to creep up.

At the end of the day, it may be fashionable to blame the politicians, but it’s the people in whom the fault lies. You wanted something for nothing. You believed you could get something for nothing. And in the end, you will be left with nothing.

Americans by and large like to celebrate our work ethic, our strength. But time and time again we are content to push the easy button at the polls.

Well, in all fairness, looking at all the programs The O wants to implement, this forecast is probably accurate. The good news: if it gets too bad, maybe all the poor will go to Mexico where the COL is cheaper than up here and we’ll change the mix between people voting for Capitalism and Socialism back to our side.

The liberals, who don’t know where meat and potatoes come from, will try to sneak into my garden and I will shoot them. And then eat them. Maybe I’ll wash them down with a depression-era homebrew.

Okay, the yeses and the nos of his argument.

To start with, blow off the notion that there are going to be food shortages. Food production is huge, and could be cut 75% without any American doing without. However, we feed much of the world, and they could be in deep trouble.

An important point is that we have the food, so the government could screw the public by hoarding it. This was the mistake of Hoover, and why FDR was so popular. Hungry people utterly disregard economics and will support whoever feeds them, no matter how they feed them.

But that being said, the Democrats don’t have a clue about economics, and the Republicans are not much better. Both are still in the post WWII “easy credit” economic paradigm, that has finally failed. The means they plan to use to restore it will just make the problem worse. They need to move back to a stable economic system.

The bottom line is that “easy credit” is over. The iron rule returns that “You can only have credit if you don’t need it.” This applies to individuals, corporations, the US government and internationally.

The credit collapse will mean that not only is there NOT going to be any credit for the US government to deficit spend, but that their tax revenue based budget is going to contract by double digits. This is the revenge of the Laffer curve, because first of all, nobody has made a profit this year, but have had huge losses, and second, everybody who has money already wants to put it somewhere safe, where it can’t be taxed.

Obama wants to throw trillions of dollars here, there and elsewhere. But the US Treasury will just say “No money here!”

So he will order them to sell Treasury bonds, and they will try. But there are no more buyers. If no bonds are sold, no money goes to the US Treasury. So there will still be “No money here!”

And Obama will clench his little fists, and stomp his little feet, and there is absolutely nothing he can do to get more money to spend.

Finally, at this point, to avoid bankruptcy, the US government will have to close down much of what it does, so money can be taken from those departments to go to the critical ones.

The government will have no choice but to means test every benefit it offers. Unless you are really poor, you don’t get Social Security, or Medicare, or anything else free from the government at all.

Right now, for the first time, the US Post Office is about to lay off 40,000 employees. And every other government agency and department will have to do the same. The Democrats will try to gut the US military, and they will reduce it by the 25% that Barney Frank wants.

But that won’t last, because every violent lunatic on the planet will start shooting at Americans and American property.

The rest of the world will be chaotic. Europe will be awful, because it got rid of most of its armies. There will be lots of insurrections.

Obama will suffer like few US presidents have suffered before. He has been named Captain of the Titanic, two hours after it hit the iceberg. He has 40 minutes of Celine Dion’s singing left. And he is going to be blamed for the whole mess.

Another 9-11 will destroy our economy. AIG and the banking system are on life support as it is. How can the insurance industry and the banks handle another hit? Our enemies know this.

Celente is speaking the truth. Just like a few of us were doing on FR in early 2004. He called the financial crash perfectly in 2007. He is predicting fuel shortages, food distribution problems and possible violence in major cities. Chickens are coming home to roost.

Video: Gerald Celente in 2007: From His Web Site

Oh, well. No one listened to me, either.

By the way, Coast-to-Coast AM is featuring a guest who will talk about what is really going on with weather changes. 10 PM tonight It's not just global. Our solar system is going through the Dark Rift beginning in 2009. Mega-changes may occur. The power elites that run the world know what is going on. Some people believe they crashed the financial system on purpose, just to take their profits now. Before all hell breaks loose in 2011.

Time to move on. Nothing to see here, now. Yada, Yada . . . Go back indoors. Lock all your windows and doors.

At best, we’ve got four rough years ahead. At worse, all sorts of horrendous scenarios can be imagined. For example, we are overdue for a “second attack.”

I’ve been with FR a long time now, and I think there is no community of people in the country better prepared intellectually and spiritually and with the maturity of judgment to handle whatever comes. A lot of useful information is exchanged in these threads.
