Glenn Beck this morning has been telling all his listeners that everyone should be acknowledging that obama is president to, only to himself, but to everyone.
One caller came on and expressed his concern for the obama presidency and was having a hard time calling obama as his president.
Beck jumped all over him, calling him ant-American. I immediately turned off his show and never will listen to his crap again.
Beck is obviously worried about being kept on the air after the 'Fairness Doctrine' gets reenacted.
Just so ya' know.
Yes, this was a big stakes election. Yes we lost. Yes the next 4 years may very well suck and have changes we detest. But life goes on. Just like I tell my 7 year old.
So whine or cry a little more and get it out of your system. He's your President elect and that is a simple statement of fact at this point in time. You certainly don't have to like it, but my God, deal with it. Or are we going to take our ball and run home crying to mommy because we didn't win the game? Sheesh.
I didnt say anything about sucking it up. I was talking respect. But if you want to go the way of today’s society and not have any respect at all, then by all means go ahead. I just dont know how you can respect yourself.
He’s somewhat irritating. Did they fire him at CNN?
Glenn Beck may have been facetious. He may have been joking.
On the other hand, Barck is the President-Elect and acting foolish won’t get the bread buttered.
Joking or not, the conservative movement is going to have to get its act together. Two big losses in a row is not a fluke.
Understand one thing - Glenn Beck is NOT a Republican, he is not even particularly a conservative. He is a libertarian, and is careful to say, he is not a smart guy, more like a rodeo clown. He is highly successful using this persona. So if he says that respect of Barack Hussein Obama, Jr., the President-elect, is something that should be extended simply because of the position to which he has been elevated, and that by supposedly American voters, then technically attacks on Obama at this point are “anti-American”. Goodness knows, there are plenty of things to criticize Obama on right now, and when he assumes the mantle of the Presidency as of January 20, 2009, he should be held up to at least as much scrutiny as was applied to George W. Bush, right down to his mannerisms in front of a crowd or during a public address.
But the media won’t. So we must.
Obama is what he is. How he exercises that character in performance of his duties in the coming months and years, is entirely fair game, and we should not be afraid to expend all our fire on that behavior.
Fish in a barrel. Remember, there is a certain distortion of location of things beneath the water’s surface, so you have to do the necessary compensation when you take aim.
But man, when you hit one, it really comes apart.
Is it too early to put an “Impeach Obama” bumper sticker on my car?
Serious question
Silly rabbit!! It’s only patriotic for democrats!! BTW, i’m going to ask my friend to give me her bumper sticker that says that...
So, how will we be able differentiate between you and the marxist scum then?
Americans do not have to swear allegiance to any man, no matter his elective office.
In fact, the "Pledge of Allegiance" makes no mention of the President.
Americans owe an allegiance to the Republic and to the U.S. Constitution.
The U.S. Constitution requires a president of the country to be a natural born citizen. We have no idea if the current president-elect is a natural born citizen, required by the Constitution, as he has steadfastly refused to prove it and, in fact, his refusal makes it likely he is NOT a natural born citizen. If he is not a natural born citizen, he is taking the office in violation of the Constitution as an ineligible candidate.
Second, Barack Obama has publicly stated he believes the U.S. Constitution is badly flawed and obviously doesn't support its literal meaning.
A man must make his own moral choice about his personal allegiance and had enough courageous men stood up to Adolf Hitler and similar tyrants "duly elected" by fools or the misinformed, millions of innocents might never have died.
It is the right of any American to publicly denounce any elected leader and, so long as he does not threaten the president, the Constitution allows any American to refer to the president as dog shit if the citizen so desires.
Glenn Beck does not have any authority or right to define the speech of others as pro-American or anti-American, nor does he have the right or authority to revoke anyone's American citizenship for saying ANYTHING!
Glenn Beck has the right to kick a caller off of his show for any perceived disloyalty. Listeners and callers to the Glenn Beck show have a right to refuse to call the show or to listen to it, FOR ANY REASON.
Sorry, but I find nothing to respect.
Just switched to Beck last week because in the middle of a heated campaign, Bortz starts talking abt his sick dog - geez!! - and he’s on just before Rush. I caught the Beck comment today and I’d say to all the talkers and pundits who want to be conciliatory - the HELL! Based on WHAT??? The guy voted “present” 143 or so times as a state senator - he won the senate seat by making the other poor sap’s divorce proceedings public - he started running for Prez the day he made US senator - there’s a great montage of him speaking at hearings were he starts apologizing because he was late - CRIPES! What gives anyone the confidence that this man will do ANYTHING right for this country? Pray all you want - but that’s abt all there is we have - certainly his EXPERIENCE doesn’t instill any confidence - oh, and now his political appointments aren’t reassuring either - Hope you have a fat pillow for all that praying.
Hopefully because we don't just pretend to be above the fray and more intellectually honest about politics in our country, we actually are.
We are indeed a class above the general liberal population. If you believe that, as I do, then tit-for-tat is immature. I don't think rolling around in the dirt is a good representation of our intellect or dignity. If we are going to stick to our value based positions, we must not stoop to the level of our opposition.
On the other hand if you can convince me that tirades and tantrums will get conservative values expressed in the MSM and make a difference instead of being laughed at, as we have, then go ahead and make the case. I will objectively consider any argument that denouncing BO as our president will help the conservative cause.
No one hopes terrible things come, we just expect it.
Some say, We should support him until he no longer deserves our support..
Well folks, he has already demonstrated he is a threat to our nation to our “flawed” Constitution”...to the 2d Ad .to the national defense to our economy to our election process etc, ad nauseam..
Consider his current views, his background and the leftist background of his close supporters going back 50+ years. Consider the liberals who have control of our government Reid, Pelosi, Schumer, Dodd, Barney, etc. etc.
O doesnt really have to get his hands dirty, he only needs to sign off on the work of others.
Do you not feel at risk this very day?
See post 89. He said it much better than I did.
I'm going to use this election as a teaching opportunity. Hopefully, all three of my moonbat sons will convert to the light side by 2012. I've already sent my youngest an e-mail with the link to the San Fran rag's article about Donk’s trying to lower expectations.
All of my sons know that I voted for Carter in ‘76 & they've all heard me say that Carter cured me. I also told them that I was voting for McCain in the hope that they never had to learn the hard way, as I had.
I rarely listen to Beck...hearing him choke back tears every few minutes gets more than a little annoying. And who decided Beck is funny?
Glenn also said he didn’t believe Obama meant anything nasty by the lipstick on a pig comment, that it was just an unfortunate phrase. My hackles were up on him then.
I’ll give President-media select Barry Chimp Stalin the same respect President Bush has received from the likes of Keith Olbermann the past eight years.
Screw ‘em.
I think that would be hillarious. Where can I get one?
