I get several "specials" via email from Barnes and Noble each week, and today I got one with the subject "Our 44th President - In His Own Words", then the email of course contained an advertisement for his books. I pressed reply, wrote "You've got to be kidding -- remove me from your list immediately." And then went and unsubscribed myself. Hopefully the liberal Barnes and Noble will begin to get the message.
Anyone knowing a good source for books and audio books that will not be supporting this kind of thing, I'll appreciate the info.
Hope I posted all this correctly.
What are you upset about?
That’s a serious question.
They’re a business. They sell books.
His name is on 2 of them. He just won the Presidency.
Of COURSE they’re going to promote the things they have for sale.
Your version of ‘politics’ isnt politics at all, it’s bullying when you dont get your way.
Grow up.
Yeah, Paladin Press
I’d be curious how many “uhs” are in the book.
:-)
I’m sure there are many Freepers who know a gazillion
reasons not to but I have had good success with
Books A Million
That’s ridiculous! If McCain won they would’ve sent an email touting books about/by him. They probably had both written ahead of time and were just waiting to see which one to send. Please get a grip. Oh, and welcome to FR.
Cindie
Amazon.com
has better prices too.
Do not support business that have helped to place this Marxist in office!!!
They’re big box booksellers selling to the widest audience they can, selling all the common titles.
Like it or not, Obama’s books sell well. The majority of American voters just elected him indicating he’s a hot commodity. B&N smelled a business opportunity like any good business does.
/sniff
Smell that? Capitalisim. You don’t have to like it, but it smells like profits in a otherwise weak economy.
Can’t blame ‘em for CAPITALIZING on O-bey’s win!
I was in Brentanos Book store this weekend. They had a big sign “The Race for the White House” at the entrance.
I looked at the table and all the books except two were Obama cheer books, the other two were McCain bashing books.
They even had a display of political decks of cards. All the decks in the front had Obama on them. The McCain decks were tucked into the back of the display.
Typical.
What would you expect Barnes & Noble to do, blast out an email refusing to support Obama as President and announce they are removing his books from their shelves?
Seriously, they are a business like any other for crying out loud. And they are in the business of selling books, not political viewpoints.
“That’s ridiculous! If McCain won they would’ve sent an email touting books about/by him”
True, If, however, they were told what books (no authors/titles, just saying) were not allowed, and if said books were removed from their store and burned, we would see where they stand on censorship.
That book was an explosive best seller when it was first released.
ROFLOL!!
Barnes and Noble ranked 100% LIB in a list I saw yesterday of where they stood politically.
Try to buy straight from the authors’ websites if you can.
If I had a book business I may carry, but definitely would not promote, anything written by a Marxist no matter what position he had attained, and no matter how much money I could make from such a blow to our country. I would rather fail of success, than gain it at the expense of the USA.
Sounds more like you like to bully newbies. My post did not indicate an upset over this, or a bullying of anyone; I was sharing some info about B&N. As stated in another reply, my idea of financial or other success does not include supporting a person or a cause that is deleterious to the United States.
