Prop 8 in Morgan Hill, CA (vanity)
my own observations | 11/03/2008 | Me

Posted on 11/03/2008 4:19:52 PM PST by Bob

Proposition 8 may have an easier time succeeding than I had imagined. In the heavily liberal, south bay area town of Morgan Hill today, I observed two events regarding Proposition 8.

The first event occurred this morning where about a dozen people were displaying their 'Yes on 8' signs and waving to people driving by. There were a huge number of drivers honking and giving a thumbs-up to the folks on the corner. I'm guessing that half or more of the drivers expressed their approval.

This afternoon, three high-school-aged(?) girls brought their home-made 'No on 8' signs downtown. (Admittedly, it's been raining, traffic was lighter, and drivers couldn't see them as well as the 'Yes on 8' folks this morning.) Even so, there were hardly any, if any at all, drivers honking in support of them.

(Yes, it's a vanity. Probably my first in 10+ years.)

Here’s hoping that FR is also around for another 10+ years!

After work last night I was passing down Santa Monica Blvd. in West Hollywood (since the lynching in effigy of the woman Governor of Alaska Palin I call it Taliban West) when I came across tons of protestors with signs No. on 8.-—
shocking! heh (who were they preaching to?)

Unfortunately, this week’s polling looks bad for Prop 8. Last week we had a 48-45 lead, now it’s 47-50. If the MSM calls the Presidential race early, then some Yes voters may not go to the polls, and No will probably win.

Two things:

1) Why is anybody here still taking polls seriously? If your time at FR has taught you anything, it should be that 99% of polls are merely propaganda meant to affect the outcome, not report it, and the other 1% are wrong. The only poll that is right is the one conducted Nov. 4, and even that is suspect (i.e. the 2000 election).

2) Anybody who would forego voting just because a single issue or office is sewn up should have their citizenship revoked asap or, at the very least, have their conservative status revoked. There are always a whole host of other things on the ballot which need voting, too.

Loads of bond issues to say no to, Props 1A, and 3 and 10.

There is one thing to agree with the left is VOTE DOWN THE BALLOT. there are many good issues that need your voice on.

Here in Kalifornicate - we’ve learned our ballots mean NOTHING...

Within weeks - if Prop 8 is approved — a Judge will be selected to determine that this State Constitution Amendment is unconstitutional...

Exactly that has happened before...

A people whose cast ballots are trashed by Judges or Fraud — will soon turn to casting bullets..

Don’t worry, I’ve never missed a vote in my entire life, but there are those folks out there that only vote if they think they’ll be on the winning team.
