Fellow Freepers .... my wonderful husband (Ron) has been serving in Iraq for months, and has been traveling home to California since Friday night. Along the way he's encountered an amazing number of travel hassles and delays -- both on military transports from Iraq to Germany to the US -- and since then on commercial flights. (For those interested, he is a California Air National Guard pilot and this was his SECOND deployment to Iraq THIS YEAR!) Well, it's Monday morning and he's at the airport in Denver ... he arrives home in Fresno on United/Skywest at about 2pm ... woo hoo! He had a ridiculous number of travel hassles and delays yesterday (can you believe United broke TWO planes and absconded with his checked baggage?) ... but he should be home in under seven hours. He called me this morning and sounded pretty perky considering his luggage is AWOL and he's been wearing the same flight suit since Friday night .... LOL! (He was shopping for "gadgets" in various airport stores when he called and seemed downright "chipper!") He also reported that the hotel free breakfast was almost bad enough to have been served in Iraq ... but at least the bacon and OJ were good. I am just so proud of him, excited he's coming home ... and would appreciate prayers/good thoughts that there will be NO MORE DELAYS OR HASSLES and that he will be in my loving arms later today!

Done and done. My husband leaves for his second combat deployment within the last 12 months quite soon himself, and I know it is getting harder and harder to get through them.
I pray your husband returns soon and that you and he have a fantastic and beautiful reunion.
