Your parents sound like my parents...especially my mom. I can’t get it through her head this is no longer the party of JFK.

Yeah, you betcha!

There are a lot of immigrants here in SF who came from former Soviet republics and other authoritarian regimes. they call KSFO’s local shows frequently about 0bama ... and they know who and what he is. His “vision” for America is the reason they LEFT and came here.

They are alarmed, and have been for a long time. There are so many voter populations that I think are being overlooked, and who I think will be highly motivated to stand between freedom and 0bama.

Two of my Jewish partners are voting for Sarah and her grandpa. We’re still working on the other two.

Sadly, my yellow dog Democrat mother voted for the Democrat. Again. They could run Lenin’s corpse and she’d pull the lever. This is despite believing that all illegals should be deported, gays are deviants and should definitely not be allowed to marry, affirmative action must end, etc... Basically, she hates Republicans.

I did manage to get my late father to vote for W in 2000. He had voted for every Dem presdential candidate from 1952 through 1992. Clinton finally ticked him off enough.

So I understand your joy in being able to convert your parents.

Speaking of PA did you see Murtha sent an appeal letter to Move-on for money to fight Russell? May be time to send more money to Russell. I really want that old windbag gone.

Excellent. I wonder what the Kalifornia Court will do when 8 passes.

They will decide that the Constitution is unconstitutional.

Here’s something to blow their minds. Show them know that, if you compare them side by side, the major policies of Kennedy and Reagan will bear a striking resemblance. In fact, Kennedy’s tax cuts are based on the same theories (and had the same results). The difference between the two is that Reagan was actually good at implementation and wasn’t being held back by a party largely trying to defend, among other things, racist policies.

Good point. Reagan used to be a Democrat who switched parties because as he said the Democratic Party left him. If JFK were alive today, he would be a Republican. IMHO.

Robert I actually get. His 2 biggest causes were ending the war in Vietnam and civil rights. His party was responsible for the war and it’s failure, and they fought against the Civil Rights Act. Honestly, he had a lot more in common with many Republicans than the Democrats, which is a huge reason why he did not have the nomination sewn up. That is just a myth we have been taught. Funny how dying young changes the truth. Add in the fact he had was obsessed with bringing down Hoffa and other labor leaders sure doesn’t fit in with the perception of Democrats.

And Teddy has always been the black sheep and family embarrassment, soooooo

I was too young to vote for JFK. His run for President, though is what drove my love of politics. The only democrat I ever voted for RFK — in Southern California. Hard to believe that was 40 years ago. So who screwed up his kids so bad, Ted or Ethel? BTW wonder what they all think of Obama’s friend Ayers dedicating one of his books to Sirhan-Sirhan?

Given the fact they have been using the corpses of John and Bobby as step-stools, I bet they don’t care.
