My ultra-liberal parents just voted early and voted for McCain! They have NEVER, EVER, EVER VOTED FOR A REPUBLICAN!!!
I just held up signs for Proposition 8 on a crowded Southern California intersection. Almost every driver expressed support. Thousans of people gave us the thumbs up. There was maybe a bird-flip by one or two weirdos.
Conservatives have got to ignore poles and keep getting the message out.
Happened in My family too. What state. I am Fl.
Excellent. I wonder what the Kalifornia Court will do when 8 passes.
Texas!
What’s Prop 8?
For what it’s worth, I have a (black, afro American, etc) collegue at work that has been talking up Obama for months. But ever since the press has started talking about his ‘share the wealth’ jive, this guy tells me he has second thoughts about Obama. I dunno, I kinda think he wants me to think he’s not voting for Obama just because he’s black, but I throw this out for what it’s worth ... we’ll know Tuesday ...
8 is an amendment ... the courts .. state courts .. will be bound
the legal battle will then, of course, move to the federal level because we all know they are just waiting to get this to the 9th circuit
Even the Kalifornia court will have to deal with explicit constitutional language. We only lost in the Kalifornia courts by one vote. Three justices were extremely dismissive of the majority decision.
I have liberal parents in Ohio...
My entire family is made up of pesky Wepubwicans so I don't have anyone to convince that they need to vote for McCain/Palin. Even the Democrats I work with here in Arizona are voting McCain/Palin.
For the Constitution. For the Flag. For your country. Go Texas! We got em stopped on the Southern front.
All you have to say is, "Gee, I was really taken back by that too. I'm having second thoughts about Obama. After all, like you, I worked damn hard to get to my lot in life." Let it go at that.
PS -- If you are like me, you probably already got into an argument with him about politics and he knows your red colors.
The Kalifornia Supreme Court rewrote California law and made it legal for same sex marriages. Prop 8 is a constitutional amendment to call for marriage to be defined to be between a man and a woman.
My Ultra-Lib sister in Asheville said no-way Obama.
Hooray for Texas!!!
My grandpa (life-long democrat) is totally in love with Sarah Palin and will be voting for McCain/Palin. It’s just amazing! He likes her b/c she’s spunky! lol
But, I had an interesting exchange with a SNCO yesterday.
We were talking about where it may be headed, and I told him that McCain was well within the 10 point national polling.
He said, “I saw that and I tried to explain to my wife, that next year we will move into a new tax bracket.”
“We are going to lose if Obama gets in.”
I was surprised. This SNCO is married to another SNCO. They are Black, and currently reside in South Carolina.
I do not know and did not ask how he would vote. But, I got the impression he was trying to convince his wife towards Mccain.
From what I can tell it was two things.
1)The attacks on Palin really pissed off my mom.
2)My dad is making more money than ever and Obama’s “share the wealth” comment did not sit well with him. He only watches CNN and those idiots mentioned it. He’s one of those people making over $250K.
My Dad who has never, ever voted Republican will do so, this Nov for McCain/Palin.. he absolutely loves Sarah.. and My Mom too will vote for McCain/Palin
