'Rock legends Led Zeppelin are planning to tour and record but without frontman Robert Plant.
Bassist John Paul Jones told BBC Radio Devon that a new singer was being sought after Plant ruled himself out.
The last time the band performed together was at the O2 arena in London in December 2007.
Speculation has since been rife that the surviving members of the band, with Jason Bonham, son of their late drummer John Bonham, would go back on the road.
Jones, speaking at a guitar show in Exeter, Devon said: "We are trying out a couple of singers.
"We want to do it. It's sounding great and we want to get on and get out there." '

No Plant? WTF?
I saw that show a few months back. It was great!
I went in not knowing what to expect, didn’t know who Allison Krauss was, was there just because of Plant. It was really something special, quite a performance. I wish they would put out a live DVD from the tour, I’d really like recordings of their Zeppelin covers.
He’s on the road on with Allison Krauss.
(Why, the boy even has his own record label!)

Ann Wilson?
Yeah. I mean, the kids I meet are all guitar students, so its probably a skewed sample, but it is encouraging. That video game Guitar Hero has been a tremendous boon to the guitar industry. It has led many, many kids to take up the guitar for real.

Anybody check to see if Dolly Parton is free? ;)
It’s going to be Steven Tyler of Aerosmith, folks. Expect the show to feature 75% Zeppelin tunes, and 25% Aero tunes.
That would be cool!
Whatever happened to this much bally-hooed “reunion”?

Yes, because even Page and Plant can't go anywhere (even separately) and answer questions without being bombarded with "When are you going to reform? When is the next LZ album???"
And even if answered, they will be asked again and again at the same gathering.
Maybe if the band jumps the shark, they can get people to focus on what they've been doing for more than 25 years now (post-Zep).
Reg died this year (or was it last year?).
Robert Plant is into Americana/rootsy stuff see days, isn’t he?
