Palin's off-script comments irk McCain aides
CNN ^ | 11:26 a.m. EDT, Mon October 27, 2008

Some aides to Sen. John McCain say they weren't happy that running mate Sarah Palin went off script Sunday...Palin deviated from her prepared remarks to talk about her wardrobe controversy Sunday.

... A senior McCain adviser told CNN those comments "were not the remarks we sent to her plane." ...A Palin aide said that the governor clearly felt like she had to say something to defend herself, because "that's really not who she is."

... sources told CNN that long-brewing tensions between Palin and key aides to McCain were on the rise.

McCain advisers suggested that they have become increasingly frustrated with what one aide described as Palin "going rogue."

McCain sources say Palin has gone off-message several times, and they privately wonder whether the incidents were deliberate. They cited an instance in which she labeled robocalls -- used to attack a candidate's opponent -- "irritating" even as the campaign defended their use. Also, they pointed to her telling reporters she disagreed with the campaign's decision to pull out of Michigan.

A McCain source says she appears to be looking out for herself more than the McCain campaign.

"She is a diva. She takes no advice from anyone," this McCain adviser said. "She does not have any relationships of trust with any of us, her family or anyone else.

"Also, she is playing for her own future and sees herself as the next leader of the party... ...But this Palin source acknowledged that Palin is trying to take more control of her message, pointing to an impromptu news conference on a Colorado tarmac last week.

CNN contributor and Republican strategist Ed Rollins said Palin was "mishandled" during the earlier part of the campaign, and as a result, "she's become a target of a lot of ridicule."

“She does not have any relationships of trust with any of us, her family or anyone else.”

I find this statement to be highly dubious.

I find it to be poor sentence structure.

CNN - Crappy News Network

they can report about “so-called” tensions in the McCain camp, but completely obliterate any divisions that the Hillary voters are experiencing and will NOT go for Obama because of his fraudulent, strong arm tactics during the primaries. CNN is BS!

If that comment was really made by a McCain staffer, that person needs to be fired immediately!

And I don’t care if the McCain bus is driving through the middle of the f**king desert. You just say to the aide, “You’re fired. But you’re lucky. We’re gonna drop your ass off at the next city/town/crossroads instead of dumping you at the side of the road. You can find your own way home”.

So, she’s being a “maverick”?

McCain should find out who’s talking to cnn and fire their butt. That’s what I call “going off script”.

If you didn’t believe the slimes over at CNN up to now about the ‘inevitability’ of Obama why should you believe Dana Bash reporting this crap who by the way is married to that slimeball John King who tried to suppress the Republican turnout last Monday in Colorado by ‘reporting’ the McCain campaign was moving its resources out of Colorado, which happened to be the same day as Sarah was holding 3 rallies there. At night over pillow talk they probably compare notes on how successful they were in screwing the McCain campaign (nil). Probably that’s what their sex life is as well.

she's the only life left in their campaign,

Definitly.

It was flounding when McCain named her. She re-energized it.

It was nearly dead-in-the-water again. She resurrected it in the VP debate.

Wednesday, many tv stations/cable channels have the Obamarama.

So far, McCain has nothing scheduled -- and the election is next Tuesday.

Gretchen on Fox&Friends this morning said they had a standing invitation for Palin to set on their couch. So far, Team McCain has not allowed that. Gretchen even re-offered the invite this morning.

With them being financially strapped, due to McCain taking public financing, Team McCain need to be accepting every one of these TV/Media offers for interviews.

Why? Who are you referring to?

‘Man up’ is an expression; ‘woman up’ isn’t.

"She is a diva. She takes no advice from anyone," this McCain adviser said.

I believe the word you're grasping for is "Maverick".

Live by Maverickiness, die by Maverickiness, I always say.

I didn’t know that Sen. John McCain has aides.

Maybe he’ll get relief doing whatever Magic Johnson did.

I think they’re going after her because they genuinely fear her in 2012 even with an Obama win next week. They know four years of working as Gov in Alaska, and picking up a team of good advisers, and acquiring a breadth of knowledge and experience will make her a truly formidable candidate in 2012. Her campaigning skills and her ability to connect with the people over the heads of the media are Reaganesque.
So it is in Obama’s and the dems’ and their lackeys in the media’s interest to destroy her now.

Hey, Romneybots: What parts of ‘Maverick’, ‘Pit Bull’, and ‘she stood up to the good old boys network in Alaska’ weren’t you paying attention to?

You idiots.

“A senior McCain adviser told CNN those comments “were not the remarks we sent to her plane.” “

I don't believe this. This is very condescending if true. The “senior McCain advisor” is probably a figment of someones imagination.
Or maybe the guy at the deli who delivers food to the campaign.

(McCain adviser Nicolle) Wallace e-mailed CNN the same quote she gave the Politico: "If people want to throw me under the bus, my personal belief is that the most honorable thing to do is to lie there."

What a self absorbed thing to say. Who is acting the diva now?

"Her lack of fundamental understanding of some key issues was dramatic," said another McCain source with direct knowledge of the process to prepare Palin after she was picked. The source said it was probably the "hardest" to get her "up to speed than any candidate in history."

Stunningly unprofessional. Heck, the quote is not even grammatical. Someone on this Judas staff needs to be fired - pronto!

I agree. I have seen more vicious attacks against Palin than against McCain. When they started getting hysterical about her clothes, this raised red flags.

Oh no sweetie. Gov Palin understands the issues. She might not see things the way you do or want her too, but she understands the issues.
