    Waste not, want not!
... a little comic relief. Or is it redistributing the deer's wealth? Hmmmm....

hmmmmmm I live near there and have been there.
I am guessing it is road kill.
This time of year the deer are all over the roads here- the stupid things walk out right in front of you and watch you as you hit them.

Well, at least it wasn’t cat.

It’s not the eating deer meat that was the problem, I think.
It’s butchering it in a restaurant. Gotta be a health code violation.
If they’d have hung it up and skinned it in the garage like we do, wouldn’t be a problem.

Deer isn’t inspected meet so it can’t be cut in areas passed by the health board.(at least without a lot of heavy cleanup).

Would they rather them serve it un-butchered? It would probably be harder to stir fry in it's un-butchered form

Any meat in a restaurant or store for sale to the public has to be at least USDA inspected that it is edible for human consumption.

It’s illegal to have USDA meat and game on the same premises.
In hunting country, small packing houses that cater to hunters have to have all domestic meat out of the place before they can take in any game.
