Assuming O wins the vote, his handlers have prepared for the citizenship argument and there are several possibilities.

One possibility is O will dramatically reveal that he has learned Frank Davis - an American citizen who was then otherwise married - is his father. No matter that Obama Sr. was also otherwise married, that was in another country; he was eligible to “marry” Anne. This possibility could also account for why a young O spent many years at Davis’ knee.

Under this theory the Obama family in Kenya who thought that baby - whose birth they witnessed was theirs - will take their place under the bus. It also could provide a reason for why he doesn’t send his shack-dwelling brother a few dollars now and then.

On April 30, 2008 the Senate unanimously passed a Resolution introduced by Leahy, Clinton, McCaskill, Coburn, Webb and Obama; flaming liberals all and each eager to see McCain as the Republican candidate. Obama certainly had a stake in the Resolution, but for another reason: it gives guidance for how the Congress should resolve whether O is qualified to serve as President.

The Resolution refers to the testimony of former federal judge Michael Chertoff: “My assumption and my understanding is that if you are born of American parents, you are naturally a natural-born American citizen,”

A recital of Resolution provides: “Whereas previous presidential candidates were born outside of the United States of America and were understood to be eligible to be President; …” It then goes on to resolve that McCain is a natural born citizen.

What level of proof will be necessary for O to establish his parentage? One legal writer claims “…the combination of the birth announcement in the Panamanian American plus the McCain birth certificate plus the memories of his 96-year-old mother persuades me that the senator was indeed born inside the Canal Zone.

If the matter goes to the USSC it will likely find the issue is clearly within the power of the Congress: In addition to the amendments cited elsewhere in this thread, one of the enumerated powers delegated to Congress is: “To establish an uniform Rule of Naturalization.”

What of the fact McCain was “ born in a military setting” and O was not? One well-placed writer provides: “…retired State Department types…say that McCain’s strongest argument that he is a natural-born citizen is that he was born abroad to two U.S. citizens. The fact that he was born on a U.S. military base or in the Panama Canal Zone is of secondary importance...”
