The Beatles drummer Ringo Starr has ordered his fans to stop sending him fanmail.
The drummer says he's got "too much to do" and warns he'll throw any fanmail in the bin after October 20 in a video posted on his website.
"This is a serious message to everybody watching," Starr says in the clip.
"I want to tell you that after the 20th of October please do not send any fanmail to any address you have. If that is the date on the envelope, it's gonna be tossed.
"I'm warning you with peace and love, I have too much to do. So no more fanmail. Thank you. No more objects to be signed. Nothing."
It's not clear whether the wealth of fanmail was trigger by 'Brush With Greatness', the 1991 episode of 'The Simpsons' Starr appeared in where he vows to answer every bit of post he recieved from fans, including answering Marge Simpson's question that "Yes, in England we do have French Fries, but we call them chips!"
I think that Charlie’s had some bigger hit songs since 1990 too.
Great finds on the Pretties!
People, the reason Ringo is warning his fans is because many send in 1 to 3 collectibles to be signed. He is trying to spare them losing their collectible items that have value. Some do it to resell and profit from his signature. I sure as hell don’t blame him. He has been doing this for over 40 years without complaining. Give the guy a break for crying out loud unless you all plan to never slow down in your later years.

And the Chapman copy of the LP has been auctioned. Someone picked it up at the scene. It was used as evidence but then returned to someone other than Chapman.
(look on the left side of this early Rhino Record).
But seriously, Ringo has done better than the other three since the breakup: a few nice poppy singles, rock’n’roll revival tours with some great forgotten guys (another one coming up soon.) Compare that with all the mediocrity produced by the others since George’s first great solo album.
Have you seen his wife? I wouldnt be answering fan mail either.
Got to pay dues if you wanna sing the blues...
The movie had moments that were halarious, other moments were flat. (Like most movies !)
Anyway, I saw Ringo in concert a few years ago. Great show !! Jack Bruce (Cream), Simn Kirk (Bad Company), Eric Carman, Dave Edmunds. Great band and a great time.
Too bad Ringo is starting to act like Roger Waters !!
.
I’m all shook up!
Elvis would be proud.
“But seriously, Ringo has done better than the other three since the breakup”
Staying alive qualifies as doing better than 2 of the other 3, yes.
LOL ... what a putz
Do what I'm going to do. Every piece of "junk mail" I get from now on, I'm going to box up and send on to Dingo! Enclosed I'll put a note, "Dingo, Someone sent me this crap, I hear you dispose of unwanted mail. Would you please throw this away? Thanks your # 0 fan."
‘Ringo’. A good name for a dog. I mean, I know a woman with a German shepherd whose name is ‘Andy’. Andy?
“Maybe the Dingo ate yor’ baby!”
“We named the DOG Indiana!!!”
.
LOL!
