Okay. So, I went to my town's Fall Festival, dressed in my McCain/Palin gear. I expected to be harrassed, heck, I expected to be pushed to the ground. After all, The Fake One did send out marching orders to "get in their face" and I live in blue blue DEMONcrat Long Island.
Anywho.....the day DID NOT turn out as I expected. I cannot tell you how many thumbs up,nods of approval and "Go McCain" I received (only 1 call for obama as I walked by, and a sneer as we took the pic below)!!! I actually had people coming up to me asking where the Republican booth is so they can get McCain/Palin gear as well! They thought I was part of the booth, so I had to explain that I was a one-man band.
I was also a hit at the Republican booth. They all wanted to know where I got my bumper sticker, my shirt and pins from!! We talked for quite a while and I will start volunteering at my local Repubalican Headquarters here in town on Monday.
****Very important fact**** The headquarters stated they CANNOT keep any McCain/Palin gear in house. As soon as they come in....poof, they're gone! They have to turn a lot of people away empty handed because they cannot keep enough stocked!! Headquarters thinks the campaign underestimated (as well as I did) the number of people in my town who are supporting the McCain/Palin ticket!!
Here is a pic of my new friend and I whom I met (her husband as well) in the beer tent (I had to edit her face because I did not get permission to post her pic)....
If anyone wants to know....the NOBAMA08 bumper sticker can be purchased at http://nobamanation2008.com.
I sent so many people to that site yesterday....which is also chock full of information on barry hussein as well!
The moral of my story? From my own little "poll"....there are a heck of a lot more of us than there are of them. We're just quiet about it. One more thing....the most common thing I heard......FEAR. Fear of an obama hussein President.
I just wanted to share my news with my fellow FReepers. Yesterday certainly made me more optimistic about the election.
I think this is the case all over the country. But you can rest assured every one of us are racist.
i was at georgia game yesterday. loads of people with dawgs for mccain
stickers. saxby chambliss(senatorial candidate) was at sigma chi house
with loads of people sporting his stickers too. not surprising but
it felt good to see so many repubs out declaring their candidate.
dawgs won!!!!!
But of course... Bible and gun clinger racists!!!
Good for you. This is exactly it! You think everyone is for Obama, but that is not true. People were happy to see you. Truly, they cannot keep up with the yard signs and tshirts. You can get them online through http://www.goptrunk.com and they will deliver them quickly. Very nice folks, good prices. I am going to buy in bulk for our Farmers Market booth, too. I think the yard signs and bumperstickers and tshirts encourage people, are good for morale, make US visible.
Wooohooo!!
I think the yard signs and bumperstickers and tshirts encourage people, are good for morale, make US visible.
Exactly!!! I was truly suprised at the reaction! They seemed happy that someone was out there "speaking for them". I would encourage everyone to put on their gear and walk around your town!! If they see 1 person brave enough to speak out perhaps they will too!!
Ping a ling!!!
Only 'cause they weren't playin' Bama...
Good report! I wore my McCain pin into the IKEA store in Minneapolis/Bloomington and no one tackled me to the floor. LOL! I got a few dirty looks but I just smiled at them.
It’s kind of fun! :)
I am related to an official in the Nassau County Republican Party. According to this relative the Republican leadership show no interest in establishing Young Republican clubs. They have also not been putting up good candidates for NY State offices.
I was also told that the Conservative Party is endorsing a very liberal judge and that I should be careful not to vote the Conservative Party across the board.
Oh..I love these kinds of stories!
Thanks! it was quite uplifting!!
Thank you for the good news, NoGrayZone!
My family and I went to the Moorestown, NJ Fall Festival yesterday. Moorestown is a republican run township despite being surrounded by democrats. I have seen GOP booths at recent events, but did not spot any yesterday. However, there were folks handing out obama crap. I was glad to see that there were not many takers.
My experience at a Fall Festival in Loudoun County, VA was much the same yesterday. There were many, many supporters, thumbs up, everyone picking up a sign and bumper sticker. However, Fear was the word as people stopped by the Republican tent, worries about where the country was headed. Lots of discussion about letting fear be a motivator and not make them sit inside and fret.
I am hoping the McCain internal polling is showing something different - VA is in play and it scares us out here.
Hahahaha! Always a good day when one isn’t tackled to the floor, ROFL!
My new friend in the pic was a life long DEMONcrat as well. As she states....from the hippie generation. She and her husband voted for Bush and they are now supporting McCain/Palin. Seems like barry hussein released a “virus” among DEMONcrats!
Exactly the same type of thing that I have heard on the ground too. While fear may be a strong motivator to vote on election day, it may not make someone as willing to answer a stupid poll as the "hope" and "change" crowd. So this should give us heart until the votes are actually counted.
Ew...Nassau has been a pile of poo for quite some time now. I am in Suffolk County, we’re a little better off here. In Nassau, you can’t tell the difference between a rePUBICan or a DEMONcrat.
