Someone is on drugs.
Good Read :)
lol....not that far-fetched.
That was laugh out loud funny!!!!
However, the rest of your post is sobering. That an Obama presidency could lead to a military coup and a split in the US is not such a farfetched idea.
You had me until that load of BS. Why would the heartland elect a medicine socializing, $50 abortion giving, gay pandering, MA liberal as President?
I was with you until right here .... I would hope that the leaders of the Heartland Republic would have learned from the mistakes of the past.
This would make a great movie!
Heartland Republic???..how about Reaganland
A bit more realistic:
Obama wins barely on November 4. In his inaugural he promises a new hope.
Congress passes the Fairness Doctrine, which President Obama signs into law. Hannity and Limbaugh immediately move to satellite radio.
Congress passes a Fairness Doctrine for satellite radio. SCOTUS strikes it down.
Reprising Bill Clinton, Obama tells the American people that he tried everything he could, but after spending a good 30 minutes in budget analysis, he has no choice but to institute massive middle class tax hikes. Those making 50,000 a year will pay a marginal rate of 35%.
The US economy tanks, with GDP falling 4% in 2009, just skirting a depression.
President Obama sets a timeline in Iraq, and three months after withdrawl of troops in April 2010, Al Qaeda organizes a coup. Osama Bin Laden emerges from hiding in Iran and becomes the new Caliph.
President Obama fulfills his campaign pledge to invade Pakistan. American forces lose 10 men in a rather minor skirmish outside Islamabad. Obama withdraws forces from the Afghanistan and Pakistan, citing massive losses.
At home in 2010, Obama begins to float the idea of alternative sharia law for the Muslim minority. Nancy Pelosi quickly drafts legislation, which is passed by both houses of Congress. Obama signs it into law, and it is quickly declared unconstitutional.
Ruth Bader Ginsburg dies, and Obama nominates David Axelrod to replace her. Axelrod is defeated in the Senate when it becomes clear he has zero qualifications.
In 2010, the economy remains shaking, falling at an annualized 3.5% through September.
Republicans re-take both houses of Congress.
It emerges that Obama accepted campaign contributions from the North Korean government. In December of 2010, Berg finally wins his lawsuit. It emerges that Obama was not born in the United States, and is thus not a natural born citizen.
The new Republican Congress begins impeachment proceedings against Obama, which are successful. Obama begins the first president ever removed from office by the Senate.
Joe Biden is sworn in, and promptly pardons Obama for any wrongdoing.
Sarah Palin runs for the GOP nomination in 2012. On a platform of the fair tax, a repeal of Obama’s socialist health care plan, balancing the federal budget, and repealing the 16th ammendment, Sarah Palin wins with 65% of the popular vote, losing only DC, Hawaii, and Vermont.
Republicans gain even more seats in Congress and the Senate.
The new Palin administration quickly passes the fair tax plan, and begins criminal prosecution against Senator Chris Dodd for bribery. The Democratic Party and ACORN are both brought up on RICO charges for massive voter fraud and foreign tampering with US elections. Both are found guilty.
Barack Obama divorces Michelle and marries Keith Olbermann in Connecticut. The marriage is quickly voided when the U.S. Constitution is ammended to ban gay marriage.
Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan are nuked into rubble.
They all live happily ever after. The end.
Thanks for posting - very creative!
Prescient.
Great read. I liked everything except for the United Nations being in Salt Lake City.
I was with you up to that point - sounds like the Mexican flag ...
That name brought up memories of the miniseries Amerika from the 1980s. I vaguely remember the Russians taking over America and breaking it up into smaller countries and one of them was called Heartland.
Has anyone ever called you a conservative Alec Baldwin on crack?
All of this is highly unlikely to happen. If Obama overreaches, he loses congress in 2010.
=)
Ignore the naysayers... They existed during the American revolution as well...
I happily look forward to the day we can divorce ourselves of the rotting flesh that is the liberal collectivist. If it needs to be through armed conflict, OK. If it can be done through an amicable separation where both parties go peacefully on their own way, OK... even better.
We simply cannot continue to coexist with these people. Its NEVER going to work out. Time to separate, and go our own way.
