Cincinnati, OH (AHN) - The Ohio Supreme Court and the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals have ruled against staying the execution of an inmate because he is obese. The two courts upheld an earlier ruling of the U.S. The double murder convict argued that lethal injection might not be properly administered to him and might be painful and slow because his physical condition will make it difficult to find a vein where the lethal drug will be injected.

Cooey's execution date is on Tuesday. He was sentenced to death for killing two University of Akron students in 1986.
There are other options. If the first jab doesnt work - shoot him!

I hate this about the system. 22 years from crime until death? Ridiculous. Whatever happened to hanging ‘em right after the trial?

It is only fitting that they make him starve to death.

If an activist judge stops this at the last minute, they need to treat the rapist/murderer's condition. Cooey has complained about a medical problem, and they have a moral responsibility to look after his health. Medically, they could put the thug on a strict very-low calorie diet, supervised by a physician, with guards making sure he doesn't get extra food. Even without exercise, that would do the job safely.
A very low calorie diet (VLCD) is a diet with very or extremely low calorie consumption per day. It is defined medically as a diet of 800 calories per day or less. VLCDs are formulated, nutritionally complete, liquid meals containing 3350 kJ (800 cal) or less per day. I imagine the prison system could fix his weight problem for him, since it is a medical problem.
In the real world, losing hundreds of pounds with a restricted diet day after day would be far more cruel (and unusual) than just getting rid of this murderer today. Judges aren't in the real world though, and I doubt that a judge could find anything unconstitutional in providing appropriate treatment for a medical problem.

He'll lose weight rapidly and effortlessly while happily eating eggs and bacon, burgers, steak and pork chops, and go to his execution comfortably sated and with a satisfied smile on his face.

Interesting gun. From the looks of it, I’d probably have trouble lifting it, let alone controlling it well enough to fire it safely.

In the twentieth century under Stalin, Siberia became a vast prison enterprise in which exiles built a Siberian infrastructure while slowly starving to death on the prison diet.

Some prison diets are more effective than others
