All nice, round 1,000-point thresholds are psych barriers and floors. Nice round 100-point increments on the SP-500 less so, but they’re there.

Stocks gravitate towards $100 price levels and they rocket downwards when they “break par” on the way down.

It involves,

Tar

Feathers

Hank Paulson.

Actually, Uncle Sam has been carted off to the old folks home. Uncle Joe seems to be in charge now.

So you’re saying 7,000?

Shi-dog, it'll make 7000 by Friday.

Good to know. I moved all my stuff into bonds and longer-term investments, out of stocks, about a year ago. At some point, I’ll need to jump back in.

This song just came up on my ipod.

Between the Wheels, RUSH, 1984

To live between a rock
And a hard place
In between time-
Cruising in prime time-
Soaking up the cathode rays

To live between the wars
In our time-
Living in real time-
Holding the good time-
Holding on to yesterdays...

You know how that rabbit feels
Going under your speeding wheels
Bright images flashing by
Like windshields towards a fly
Frozen in the fatal climb-
But the wheels of time-
Just pass you by...

Wheels can take you around
Wheels can cut you down

We can go from boom to bust
From dreams to a bowl of dust
We can fall from rockets’ red glare
Down to “Brother can you spare-”
Another war-another waste land-
And another lost generation...

It slips between your hands
Like water
This living in real time
A dizzying lifetime
Reeling by on celluloid

Struck between the eyes
By the big-time world
Walking uneasy streets-
Hiding beneath the sheets-
Got to try and fill the void...

I'm guessing people's grocery baskets will be changing rapidly also. Premium items will be cut back.

Maybe this will finally kill the "organic" food scam.

I wish I had.

My trading account has been kicking butt (volitility can be good), but my retirement account is down HUGE. At this point, I might as well take the rest of the ride down as to not miss the snap back.
