In light of the information provided in this blog posting; what say you?
May I refer you to a web site...medline plus.
1. too much water will take the place of formula, babies need calorie.
2. too much water in an already small circulating system can overload the cns. not good.
3. why are you wanting to give water and not formula. the baby needs nutrition. breast milk or formula will give them plenty of water.
never hurt mine....we always mixed formula right with tap water
got 5...all good
We have five children, and stay up to speed on all things with regard to pediatric health with my wife being a nurse. I’ve never heard of water being harmful for children six months and under.
Of course being six months or less, all of our children only had breast milk at that age.
What are you going to give them?
Powdered milk with no water in it?
How stupid...
LOL
I guess if you gave the baby enough water you could drown them.
we did heat it a bit in God forbid...the microwave
It took forever for the link to pull up, so yes, I’m commenting without reading it. I don’t think the warning is telling people not to give infants “water” that is mixed with other things (e.g., formula, rice cereal), they are stating that you shouldn’t give an infant under 6 months old water as a thirst satisfier because they should be having breast milk or formula at that age in order to meet their nutritional needs.
Now, if you’re having a heat wave & your kiddo is sweating, he/ she won’t keel over if you give him 3 oz of water.
I.e., don’t attempt to replace your child’s main food source with water.
Probably true. feed ‘em co-cola and buy ‘em a NASCAR hat.
I cried non-stop until Mom figured out I wanted water. She’d give me a little every few hours. Turned me into a happy camper.
Sounds like a sales pitch for pedialtyte,
