Definitely! Thank you. :) I know that their goal is to make it so hard to connect the dots that people don’t realize who is behind it all (the same way the World Worker’s Party is behind MoveOn.org, ANSWR and Code Pink).
The ONE thing I’m so very grateful to have learned since I was in High School? That Socialism and Communism are NOT separate ideologies, AT ALL! And that today’s communists use the word “socialist” because they KNOW Americans still understand that “Communism = evil”.
And, one thing I’m very glad that I AM old enough to remember is Ronald Reagan and the Cold War. Once I made the connection between the impossibility of socialism EVER working in practice and realized that it indeed was a “pretty” term for actual Communism I was no longer capable of being misled by the left’s propaganda.
I’m not really ashamed of believing in socialism as a rebellious teen. If anything I am grateful because I understand how easy it is for people to get caught up in the “utopian theory” - even if a person is pretty darn intelligent!
To be honest with you — it scares the HECK out of me, because I’m still trying to figure out how to get through to some of these people who are probably like myself when I was a lot younger. I honestly don’t remember how I “escaped”. It was probably a mixture of time, some maturity, and real-life experience and that isn’t something that can be taught in the matter of weeks, or months. It’s a process that takes years, and I don’t think we have a lot of time left before it’s “too late” for America...
Sorry if this sounds depressing, but I am honestly very fearful for our nation. I look at what just happened in Venezuela that so many on the left were cheering about (especially when Chavez shut down the papers and TV stations). So many honestly believe that it couldn’t happen here and that Obama and his “friends” are “good people” who would NEVER destroy the Constitution, but the signs are all there - if they would only wake up!

Lenin references himself with the term socialism. Even Stalin didn’t see much of a difference between Nazism and Communism.
