I've seen him get whupped three times now. The first by a Boston cop, who brawled with Kimbo for ten minutes before bringing Kimbo to his knees!

There is talk the talk and there is walk the walk.
Self-proclaimed invincibility shouldn’t intimidate anyone until the deed has been done.
To: papasmurf
i saw him twice, who is the third?

EliteXC made a stupid, stupid mistake in hyping up Kimbo Slice as some kind of fearsome talent. He was almost exposed in his last fight against James Thompson...I’m surprised he won three fights before losing.

Some say Sonny Liston was brought down by a “”phantom” punch. Appears to be a series of phantoms here. I cannot tell if this was legit or not. What do you think?
To: JudgeFelon
Unless he pulled a WWE blade job the cut right above his eye looked real.

It wasn't a bad event last night. I'm a big Arlovski fan so seeing him in action is always good. He just doesn't seem the same since Sylvia knocked him out, though.
Kimbo definitely got exposed last night as all hype. I'm surprised Bas Rutten let him go out there unprepared like that.

It wasn’t a phantom punch. It may have been a lucky punch, but it was definitely legit.

For the man who says he’ll fight any man anywhere at any time, he sure seemed spooked by Ken Shamrock’s inability to fight and the last-minute replacement with a light-heavyweight fighter that he didn’t have research on.
Mr. One-dimensional was exposed for all to see.

It was definitely legit. Petruzelli cleared some space with that front kick and Kimbo thought he could come in with that right. Problem was he led with his chin and Petruzelli dropped him with a left. After that Petruzelli was all over him.

I don’t know. It was a street fight. They were around some cars behind a repair shop or something, and Kimbo actually tried to get away from the guy. The guy was taller than him, but built like him, and whooped. His. Azz. Hard.

I had to watch the one angle about three times to finally pick up the actual punch that did the deed. A short right jab that caught him on the right eye. It must have been completely unexpected because it sure rattled his jello.

I read that EliteXC had to give him a bonus for him to even fight Petruzelli.

Exposed? How so? He got caught with a shot, happens to everyone in the fight game....Plain and simple. Kimbo was a man, took the fight regardless of who he trained for, got caught and admitted so afterword. Nothing to hang on him.
Hell, and the ref stopped the d*mn thing to quickly anyway....Kimbo wasn't out and Petz was missing most of his shots......
Lets have the rematch.....
To: DevSix
I take that back. Slice got exposed during the Thompson fight. I wouldn't even put him as a lower-tier UFC heavyweight and that's saying a lot because the heavyweight division isn't that deep. He's a one dimensional fighter plain and simple. Maybe a little more time training with Bas will help but he will get killed if he get's matched up with the likes of Gonzaga, Big Nog, or Werdum.
The ref stopped because he wasn't protecting himself. If the fight kept going Petruzelli would of been on top of him g&p until it was stopped.

Ahh, he got caught with a shot, plain and simple. Shot on the eye socket which stunned him......he wasn't out...and he was looking to defend himself once he rolled on his back. He was looking to grab and pulll Petz down on him (like he should in that situation)......
The man acted like a class act before and after. He is incredibly young for MMA.....You suggest he wouldn't beat Big Nog or Gonzaga....How many other fighters with 4 fights would either? That is a strawman.
Reality is, the man got caught with a shot while looking to be aggressive and with that, hell the fight was stop quickly to boot. He wasn't out and he was looking to defend himself at about the point the fight was stopped. Of course Petz is going to get off a shot or two before you can get into full protect mode...
I watch the fight game when I can.....more into boxing when I get time to follow......but there is way to much negative hype being given to Kimbo over this loss.
To: DevSix
Good post, I agree. I don't think an experienced fighter would or should get caught like that. He messed up opening up and leading with his chin to begin with.
Yeah, you're right I guess my argument was strawman but who would of thought that Gonzaga would of caught Cro Cop with a head kick?
I think the negative hype is a result of overhype from the beginning. That was a mistake on EliteXC's part, though. Dana made sure not to make that mistake with Brock Lesnar. However, I think Dana could of thrown Lesnar a bone and not of matched him up with a perennial champ in Mir right off the bat.
