Austrian man kills in-laws with flame-thrower
Vienna - A 48-year-old Austrian man allegedly has murdered his wife's parents with a home-made flame-thrower, Austrian news agency APA reported Saturday. The attack occurred Friday evening.
The suspect's 84-year-old mother-in-law burned to death in her bed after she was torched with a modified propane-gas bottle. As she had lost both legs due to diabetes, she had no way of escaping.
Her 84-year-old husband was found dead outside the house the elderly couple shared with their daughter and son-in-law in Lemberg in Styria province.
Police said an antagonistic relationship between the two couples living under one roof could have led to the murder.

Regrettably, they didn’t have to look far to find the next-of-kindling...
Sometimes issues build up over decades with bad behavior on one or both side of the in-law question. It would certainly be better to send elderly relatives to a nursing home rather than to try to live with them in a destructive living arrangement.
My father and mother in-law signed their property over to a son and daughter in-law a few years ago, with the agreement, I am sure, that they would have a place to live there as long as they lived. My father in-law died over two years ago; the MIL is still living at 85. The spoiled, entitled son has been to our house once in the past year or so, and then mainly to spew his venon against his mother and announce as how he isn’t likely to even go to her funeral because of this and that. That in itself is enough to insure that I’m done being on their turf ever again; but mainly because of the caustic manner in which he speaks to me, and the disrespectful way he treats me when and where he pleases. - I hope she lives to a hundred and holds their selfish feet to the fire every minute of it. They certainly do love those free lunches, but never seem to realize there are strings attached to those lunches.- It isn’t his call as to who should die and when in order to leave their earthly goods for him and his wife. - I’ve encouraged my husband to intervene if it gets to be too nasty a situation for her. (In her mind, the nasty boy and his greedy wife have golden rear ends.)
I wonder what sparked the argument in the first place? In any event, the burning issue led to a heated argument and all of this family’s plans went up in smoke.
All right, everyone...flame away!
jesus christ. what is happening in my country in the last months? i looks like all sick monsters are crawling out of their holes this year. multiple axe murder, cellar kids, burned alive......
The way people are killed reveal the killer and their mindset, stabbing the face is intensely personal and eliminates strangers, etc.
A flamethrower? He really didn’t like his in-laws very much. lol
My father was in WWII on the USS Franklin, the ship that the Japanese thought they sunk a few times but kept on living. He went overboard on one of the bombings.
He never told us much about what he did, he did tell me once that he wound up on a beach and was handed a flamethrower, I always wonder what he did with that flamethrower. He would get letters from documentary companies doing WWII specials and never wanted to participate.
a subdued lol
Sadly, that is more often the case than not, while others who do more and expect nothing in return get exactly what they expect and are taken for granted as well.
