Of the current US lineup, I really like the 919:

Most of those have long since been wrapped around poles or pancaked into walls.

It was a h*** of a machine.

I got clipped by a car on 101S out of SFO right at hospital bend. I came out okay, the bike ground a hole in the crankcase while sliding down the freeway.

The local crotch rocket riders are, for the most part, into “tribal tats’, bizarre piercings, rap music and “liberal thought”.

you say that like there's something wrong with "tribal" tats, bizarre piercings and rap music.
altho rap is only good for one thing, paying back the harley guys for loud pipes. :P

Only when they externally identify liberal losers.

And, FYI, I have an 840W amp, a pre-amp/EQ, sub-woofer and 4 Polk marine speakers on my trike.

The rap-blasters can’t hear themselves think when I blast a little Danzig or Metallica.

loud pipes and a loud stereo? deadly combination :)

skip metallica tho, their music sounds much better as covered by apocolyptico. ;)

Actually, my massive iPod list is all over the genre map.

From Carl Orff’s “Carmina Burana, O Fortuna!” and Wagner’s Ring of the Nibelung to Hugo Montenegro’s spaghetti western collection to everything Alice Cooper ever did, Finnish Goth, Helsinki’s 69 Eyes, Type O Negative, Ozzy, BOC, Jethro Tull, a hundred other obscure but excellent bands and just about every 80s song I ever loved.

It’s a rare thing that I get a “request” I can’t cue up for the person asking.

[over 4000 songs...and counting]

Wonder of wonders, I can still hear the stereo *just* fine over the cut-off straight pipes/no baffles at highway speeds.

When we ride in groups, I find that others keep jockeying for position just so they can listen to my music, too...:))

[it’s not just a bike...it’s performance art]

Sure seem to be, what with the never-seen-elsewhere orange and black soles.

And.... there’s a ticket for noise pollution. :D

I prefer to keep my music to myself. Scala Rider FM, combined with an iPhone and a Griffin iTrip FM broadcaster. :D

ROTFL

my bad

but that’s what happened

the “too-cool” little “howdy” hand gesture in the first picture is what did it.

The town cops get into it, especially if “Play That Funky Music” happens to be on.

[but if I were cranking rap, I’d get a ticket fer sure]

We were at a stoplight in the square and hubby gunned his motor and twisted his head towards the cop sitting beside me at the light and the guy was “head popping” and grinning like mad.

Maybe it’s all in *what* you play.....:)

[didn’t AC/DC say “Rock N’ Roll Ain’t Noise Pollution”?]

I don’t, however, play it loud after folk’s bedtimes.

[unless I’m in the middle of nowhere on some deserted back road]

That's OK.
I don't have to get there fast, just in one piece. ;^P

I had one of those. Nice bike.
Does everything well, and nothing great.

Poor mirrors. I changed to bar end mirrors.

*I’d* give you a ticket just for playing “Play That Funky Music”. Or pretty much any funk or pop from the 70s, for that matter.

Does that apply to the bike as well? Because it’s easy to tell when a Harley’s been in the area - look for the parts trail! :D
