What’s ~really~ funny is the lack of hot women lining up to straddle a rice burner rider’s back.....:)

My hot women (wife and daughters) ride their own bikes. We like it better that way

Good on y’all!

I spent years back there and wouldn’t give up my own ride for anything, now.

[for one thing, you can’t *see*]....:))

Another benefit is that a group of riders is much more visible to car drivers.

The more, the merrier....and safer.

You ought to see the looks when we ride together, park as a group and then they take their helmets off. Women riders always get a funny look

We ride sport/touring rice. No cruisers. Inventory includes Ninjas, PC800, Concours, and a couple of dual sports. Also dress ATGATT.

Eldest daughter was the first student to ride a MC to her high school (in MD). School had no idea of how to handle that. Staff wanted to ban MCs for safety, but I pointed out that the VP rode his bagger in most of the time.

“Women riders always get a funny look”

I’m sure you’ve taken note of some attitudes here towards “biker chicks”.

[whatever]...:))

The only “funny looks” I really notice is if I’ve stuffed my hair up under my helmet.
When I take off the helmet and 40 inches of hair drops down, sometimes people look surprised.

[probably because being covered up by the helmet, glasses and leathers, I might look either gender-neutral or like a little skinny guy]....LOL

“Staff wanted to ban MCs for safety, but I pointed out that the VP rode his bagger in most of the time.”

Ha!....;-D

You sound like you have a wonderful family and would be people we’d be honored to ride with.

Um, there was only ever one flat-four Japanese bike, and that was the Honda Goldwing in 1000 (my old ride), 1100 and 1200ccs.

Those were anything but light on the front end. In fact, if you revved the GL1000 to redline and popped the clutch, the front end didn’t lunge skyward (even if you had the standard/non-tourer with no fairings) - all it did was light off the rear tire and leave a 150’ black streak on the pavement.

Do you perhaps mean the inline four bikes? I don’t remember my CB750 getting that light on the front end... but I suppose it helps if you’re not leaning all the way back and resting on the sissy bar at 120+. :P

If you ever decide to sell that PacCoast, let me know. I’m sure you know that the PC has a huge following these days, but I’d still like a crack at it.

I picked up my prom date with a borrowed PC800. I wish Honda still made them.

I meant the inline 4’s like the Kawa Z-1, the Suzuki GS1100, and the Kawa 750 3 cylinder 2 cycle machine.

Well, the Kawasaki triples were noted for having handling envelopes that resembled swiss cheese, what with all the holes in them. The Z-1’s handling was not noted as being especially good either - in fact, poor handling was a Kawa trademark well into the 80s and 90s, culminating in the ZX900 disaster of a bike. The H2 750 two-smoke was known as a widowmaker. Having ridden one, I would agree. Handling on that thing best described as “frightening”.

The Suzuki GS series is known to be truckish in general. Don’t recall anything really bad about their handling, but nothing great, either.

Honda generally had their handling envelopes together back in that era, when so many others from the US and Japan, including Harley, really didn’t. The only exception among the 70s machines was the original CBX, which had a swingarm that was a tad short and tended to go into weaves at high speed. Though disturbing, it never caused a crash, and Honda fixed the problems shortly thereafter.

Personally, I really liked my 75 Honda CB750 and put a ton of miles on it. I didn’t like my roommate’s Z-1R very much - again, holes in the envelope. Liked his KZ750 twin even less.

Not sure how that straddling the back thing works; Personally, I prefer hot women to straddle my front. But that’s just me.
