Hi Conor! Good to see you too. I knew you would enjoy the pic of President Eisenhower, as you always post that picture of him. He was a wonderful Military man.
Nap time here~~LOL~~
I thought it was a good 'fit'; the poem seemed to make the scene even more beautiful, though calm waters and autumn trees are already a lovely sight to begin with.
I could probably deal with being bald rather than all those sequin thingies stuck to my skin! Shudder. I cant even stand fingernail polish!
LOL! I do like nail polish, but I can do without the sequin thingies as well! Bald? ONLY if no one ever saw me that way! (I'd HAVE to wear a wig!) Gotta admit it sure would save on shampoo, cream rinse, and stuff though!
Ever been to Wright Patterson AFB in Ohio? Truly cool place. Lots of history and planes!
I've never been to Ohio. I'm sure I would enjoy seeing the old planes though. :)
Hi, Conor - I thought of you when I saw the holidays for today - knowing how you often post Ike’s picture on Military Mondays. :)
It's always interesting to check calendars for the 'holidays' listed daily and to include a brief bit about those that are more than just silly stuff. :) (not that there's anything wrong with the silly stuff.) LOL
But you are one of the most 'thoughtful' people ever. Or observant or something. :)
(thank you for the thank you for my thank you to your original compliment) LOL
LOL....big time!
It's funny about autumn and autumn colors though - I tend to think of them as more in the burnt orange family and that wouldn't look good in our house at all. I could make 'this' arrangement work, though. :)
Beautiful pictures of Sarah Palin’s Alaska, jaycee!
Hi, Conor - thanks for asking. Doing fine - hope you are. I think we all have different days when we’re just busy, out and about, and don’t take the time to slow down and visit with our FRiends here.
Oh my goodness, a goose that eats leaves!!!:-)
Beautiful work, Billie, really brings out the colors.
This will never end, I can see it now....
“Thank you.”
“No, thank YOU.”
“Ah, yes, thank you for your thank you.”
“Did I forget to mention ..... etc.....?:)”
Thousands Flee Homes as California Wildfires Spread
Thousands of people have been evacuated from their homes in California because of the danger from fast-moving wildfires that have already killed two people.
The fires have burned more than 5,000 hectares and dozens of buildings.
California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has declared a state of emergency in Los Angeles and Ventura counties in the south of the state.
Major fires are raging at the Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base, at two national forests, and around the edges of the San Fernando Valley north of downtown Los Angeles. Fire crews have made some gains, and a blaze at the northeast edge of the valley was 70 percent contained Tuesday.
A homeless man and his dog were killed in one of the fires, while another person was killed while trying to drive on a freeway enveloped with thick smoke.
The fires are being driven by the hot, dry Santa Ana winds that blow out of the California desert through the canyons and valleys.
