Hope I'm weong, but I think McCAin is finished. If he can't hold Colorado and/or Virginia, there's no way he can win. The chances of him flipping Michigan and/or Pennsylvania is pretty slim. We're screwed.
Wight or weong we will soon cee.
Over, did you say OVER? Nothing is over until we decide it is! was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor!?
If it’s the polls that scare you...quit reading the polls.
We’re 5 weeks out, lots can happen.
Hillary, early on in the primary was written off (not great analogy because she did lose to 0), but my point is she was behind in some polls by 13 points in the NH primary, and she won it.
I don’t know whether to believe the polls or not, but I do know that during the primaries Barry overpolled, so I don’t put a lot of stock in them.
It’s up to McCain (and the Republicans) at this point. They have to stand up and make the Dems own their problems. So far, IMHO, everybody on our side has been too timid to call a spade a spade (and that’s not a racist remark, LOL.)
The MSM is desperately trying to shut this down now — that’s what’s getting to you. Agitprop.
He's not just scaring the chicks.
IMHO, it’s time to be concerned, but it’s not time to head for the lifeboats. 0bama has benefited greatly from the (false) perception that the bailout is due to “Bush-McCain policies.” He also held it together in the first debate, enough that coming in second didn’t hurt him.
And yet, for all that, it’s only a 5-6 point gap nationally, and closer that that in some of the battleground states that are now leaning 0bama. It won’t be easy, but those numbers can be moved, IMHO. I think the following 3 things are key:
-McCain’s got to drive home the truth behind the Fannie/Freddie mess and the nature of the bailout. Bill Clinton has given him a helping hand by pointing out Congressional Democrats blocked reforms during his own administration. McCain needs to run with that.
-McCain also has to start nailing 0bama on the specifics of his spending plans. There’s plenty of material there than can and should scare the dickens out of the taxpayers. Exposing the sham of 0bama’s “middle-class tax cut” alone ought to swing some voters.
-Finally, McCain needs to redouble his efforts to attack on the energy issue, and Sarah Palin needs to be the tip of the spear. She’s got more experience and knowledge on this issue than anyone else on either ticket.
Sheesh give Mac a day to breathe. I have great faith that he will pull another Macattack this week or next. :D
Think good thoughts - like an October strike against Iran.
BTW instead of handwringing we should read and pass this around.

The story has been written, Republicans blew yet another, gift wrapped opportunity to win this election, by telling the truth, exposing Frank & Dodd, and standing up for conservative principles .
They failed Reagan again, this time I fear it's for good.
It's time to abandon this fraudulent, power sharing, 2 party system. 1n 1996 it was their turn, now it's their turn again. How else can you explain the gross incompetence and malfeasance?
Republicans don't want to win this year, & no matter who is in power, the Government continues to get bigger..
It's time to abandon the National Party, and run & support candidates on the local & state level in new parties, whether it be the Conservative Party, the Piedmont Party,or the Blue Cockatoo Party. It would give the local papers something to write about, and give Talk Radio something to talk about.
And when the newly elected Senators & Representatives go to Washington, they can caucus with whomever they want and will not be beholden to such asshats like Trent Lott, & Denny Hastert, who just tote the RNC/DNC line.
Take the power away from Washington and return it to the states. We elect them to do just that, yet they fail us time and again, it's time to take matters into our own hands.
Conservatism wins every time it is tried, so lets play that card every time.
Two days ago, Zogby was predicting a McCain electoral landslide. Pull yourself together and remember these two words “Wilder Effect”
God bless you, ‘W’. God has a way of humbling each of us in our turn. He sure as heck has humbled me.
I don’t disagree with any of you guys. But it appears CO and NM will flip from red to blue. Obie’s had a steady 4 or 5pt lead for some time. Then McCain must keep VA and flip a state with at least 5 EVs. If he cant hold VA, hes got no chance. Obie’s only up by 2 there, so it’s in play, but he’ll still need the additional 5 EVs. He still needs to flip a state.
Ping!
After all the skewed, flawed polling we’ve been seeing, this was refreshing. Not to mention, Obama had bought up some of McCain’s dropped ad slots. Perhaps it was a cheap dead cat bounce.
The MSM is doing their best to scare the crap out of you and everyone else just breezing through the headlines. The polls, while some test of the publics feelings, are useless. While I am definitely concerned, I’ll wait a few more weeks to make my decision as to how screwed we are. This election is crucial, just like the last two, but hopefully, Americans will wake up and see Barry for what he is.
How many times has John McCain been ‘finished’ only to survive against all odds?
By no accounts should he even be in this fight, and yet, he is. Dismiss him at your peril, concerned one.
really now is that all you have got... you can’t even spell wrong right...
