If there is a civil war, it will be based on race, ethnicity, and class. Our immigration policies are creating a permanent underclass that will be populated by blacks and hispanics who will be in conflict with one another scuffling over low paying jobs and government handouts and they will be pitted against an upper class populated primarily by non-Hispanic whites and Asians. By 2042 half of this country will be minorities [as defined by the USG] and the other half non-Hispanic whites.

Disagree.

Blacks won’t and don’t fight to work.

There are already as many as 30 million illegals in the country and many reside in sanctuary cities. And go figure, these sanctuary cities are highly populated with blacks.

Unemployment is rising but can anyone cite where blacks have come out against illegals?

A gentleman who gets it.

I’ll add this to kabar’s excellent comments:
If a “new civil war” comes, you won’t be needing a uniform.
Your “uniform” will probably be (for better or worse) the one you were “wearing” at your birth....

Sad to say that it might come to this, but it’s foolish to believe that it could not.

Regardless of the good intent of the founders, and the wonderful concept of self-government that they created, there are still _other_ forces that define and divide nations, both externally and internally. Those forces are at work here, the same as they influence human behavior everywhere else.

Culture and racial/ethnic identify are more powerful denominators of unity and “nation” than are written documents. The historical borders of Europe were defined - and CONTINUE to be defined - by such “base” concepts.

The racial/ethnic “America” of 1945 could survive indefinitely as a unified nation, “unified” by ethnic and cultural identity (the black population notwithstanding).

But the America of 1945 simply does not exist any more. It has been transformed not only by nonwhite ethnic immigration, but also by a portion of our own Euro-Americans who seem bent on destroying “what was”, regardless of the consequences.

The America of 2008 more resembles 1970’s Yugoslavia than it does America of 1945. That is to say, a jumble of ethnic/cultural factions clamoring for “their share” and squabbling amongst themselves.

Where is Yugoslavia today?
