Two weeks ago, the world was convinced the USC Trojans were by far the best team in college football.
Two days ago, the talk was how tough the road would be for the stronger SEC and Big 12 teams to get to the title to face USC.
A few hours ago, everything changed.
Something happened to USC in Corvallis again. The Trojans left Oregon States campus with a quizzical look on each of their faces, in the form of 56 Jacquizz Rodgers, who ran big, totaling 186 yards on the ground against a USC defense that many felt was the most dominant in the country. The result: a shocking Oregon State victory, 27-21 over the top ranked Trojans

SEC rules!!
Georgia, Florida, LSU, Auburn........they'll kick anyone's butt.
To: Paradox
USC is the media darling, just like Notre Dame.
SEC will bring number 1 this year: LA, AL, FL, GA....

The only time I get nervous is the 2-3 pre-conference games where we might play an SEC team.

I wouldn’t count last year’s champs out yet. I predict that Florida, Georgia or LSU will be national champion.

Coldest game I ever attended was an OU/Neb in Lincoln.

I was a college football coach for nine years. Now I am back to coaching H.S. football (it is less stressful on the family—I actually get a day off during football season!) I live in Big 10 country, but I am not a big 10 fan. Since we only seem to get big 10 games around here, I watched Ohio state several times this year. In my opinion, the Big 10 is in big trouble. In fact, when I watched USC vs. Ohio State, I was surprised that they didn't get destroyed even worse.
The best teams in the country this year can be found in the Big 12 and SEC conferences. In fact, at least 8 of the top ten teams in the nation should be from those conferences. The National championship game will be a Big 12 team vs. a SEC team.

Thanks for the link. Strange to see Wake and not FSU for the ACC on the board. East Carolina was looking strong until their first loss.

I am not an expert like you but agree with what you said BUT if the stars align right we could see Penn State highly ranked by the end of the year...
BTW: How do you explain Penn State hammering Oregon State and then Oregon State beating USC? Is USC that over rated?
