Extend that pay package to all the politicians responsible for forcing banks (including Fannie and Freddie) to give loans to people who were not credit-worthy and I’d back you. For starters, include Clinton, Barney Franks, Obambi, Dodd, and numerous others.
I've been in business now for over 30 years.
Every mentor I have ever had that was a business person had the same philosophy: "You are the Boss but you get paid last. Take Care of all your financial obligations and if there is anything left then you get yours."
We have had tough times over these last 30 years. There have been periods where we didn't cash our paychecks (the family owners of the business) for several months so we could meet our obligations. I can proudly say we never missed paying an employee or contractor.
I think the practice of Golden Parachutes for Corporate officers in publicly traded companies who are in bankruptcy should be stopped. Further if it is found that a former CEO raided the coffers and left the mess in someone Else's hands then all his assets gained from the company he raided should be returned to the stock holders of record over that period in the form of a one time dividend.
And BTW it is time for Term Limits on Congress. These bozos have way to much power and have really screwed the pooch on this financial crisis.
