Two Sebastian River Middle School eighth-graders have been charged with lewd or lascivious molestation and attempted sexual battery on a child, in connection with an incident on a school bus while the school's soccer team returned home from a game.

Rodolfo Rodriguez, 14, and Jose Zamora, 15, both of Fellsmere were arrested at their homes Sept. 17, according to arrest affidavits released Tuesday.

The two eighth-graders attempted to insert an apple pie box in a sixth-grade teammate's buttocks, while others tried taking photos with cellular phones, according to an incident report released Tuesday .

I don't like zero tolerance stuff. A kid draws a picture of a gun? To me, that's no big deal. To a lot of schools, it's a huge crisis that calls for drastic steps.

Here, we have 2 older kids assaulting a younger kid, messing with his buttocks while others take pictures. This, to me, is a truly serious thing. In all seriousness: I'd give the 2 assaulters records as sex offenders, and get the others on child porn charges. Totally serious.

Why didn't he walk to the front of the bus and tell the adults?

Why are two adults so lame as to not KNOW (they were kids once, too) that one adult should be in the back and one about the middle of the bus to keep watch on these kids?

And if the two abusers were children of illegal immigrants, the entire family should be shown the door and kicked out of Casa USofA for the remainder of their lives. IF they are products of illegal entering the USofA. If not, put the kids in detention until they're 21 and the abused child's parents should sue the Rodriguez's and Zamoras in civil court for the cost of psychiatric care for their child for life.

We had a problem with a group of kids intimidating the other kids in our sons school a few years back.......

I can tell you this sh!t only happens when the Principle ignores the problem by refusing to address it...or the board is tying their hands so they can't. The parents of those two boys are also complicit.

Our son, who attends a Catholic School- BTW, was having a problem with a boy at school as well. After the third episode ( the principle was involved with the first two) I called the boys Mother and she used the excuse that "Her son has issues because his Dad was in a severe car accident that crippled him a few years ago."(by the way it happened 7 years prior)

My response to her was....."I heard that and I'm sorry but this is the third time this has happened and your son has been brought into the principles office twice but he doesn't seem to be getting the message and although it is terrible what happened to your husband it's no excuse for bad behavior in your son!.......You could hear the shock on the other end of the line....obviously she had never been spoken to like that before.

It became very obvious to me that this was the Mothers standard excuse ....."oh please fell sorry for us"....instead of "I'll make sure it doesn't happen again." As an aside...the mother had never been told about the first two visits her son had made to the Principle's office...surprise, surprise!

I hope that boys family gets a really good Lawyer that takes the other two families and the school system to the woodshed and makes them all pay dearly for this lack of safety and outright brutality.

Have you ever had I child come up to you and tell you he was sexually assaulted by an age peer. I have, and all I can tell you is that this kid was terrified that I would not believe him, has was only 11 and a 12 year old have raped him, three times in one month. After the third time, he did come forward immediately.

This changed his life, and mine too. The assailant was charged with 9 felony's, and convicted on 4 of them, with 5 misdemeanor sex charge convictions. The criminal has yet to see a minute of real jail time, and is in residential treatment instead.

The assailants friends are still taunting this poor kid that he is a fagot, and that he liked it.

The only thing these little sick creeps understand is violence, take your child to boxing class or karate, find the dirtiest moves, the most painful blows, testicles, groin, throat, eye gouging, etic.. and tell them its okay to defend themselves. Pain is the only thing a bully fears.If its a group, ambush em’ when the individuals are separated. I did it, they will leave your child alone if they FEAR him.
A well placed blow to the throat with a handy textbook is a great equalizer.
