I think this is violating, disgusting and beyond offensive. Whomever did this should be grabbed by the FBI and severely punished. This just opens up countless people (including her CHILDREN) for psychos' threats, harassment and even possible danger. Who has the time to do stuff like this, and why? Just sickening.

Unlike all of the thousand and one other scandals called -gate, this is the 2008 equivalent of Watergate, especially if the people who did this can be linked back to Obama’s campaign. This was a politically motivated break-in in order to intercept private communications. The Bush administration should stop their usual turn-the-other-cheek BS and throw the full investigative power of the Department of Justice to track down who did this before the election. If it can be tied back to Obama then nail him on it too. If (God forbid) Obama is elected, I want President Biden having to consider whether to give him a pardon on not in a couple years.

...most likely a dimwit RAT operative, with close ties to the top of some RAT politician in which a certain amount of info will be disclosed and than the matter will drop from public record and all will be quickly dealt with,... with no punishment because a deal will be struck in DC and people like me and you will always wonder
Politics as usual

Being that Gov. Palin is not the owner of the server that was violated she is not the victim of a crime. Instead, Yahoo is that one that is the victim and they should pursue charges against the hackers.

It is time for the Secret Service to step in and go after these scum bags.

This is more than an attack on their privacy and the people involved need to be put in jail for a LONG time.

Yahoo’s entire net worth would make a nice college fund for Bristol’s baby. I hope the Palins end up owning it.

At reddit.com, where they loudly proclaim their devotion to internet privacy, all of the posters there today are furious.

No, not furious at a breach of privacy. But rather, they are furious that the idiot hacker didn't grab more private emails and publish them, while he had the chance!

Scumbag hypocrites. Someone should log the words at these "internet privacy" forums and throw them back at them later.

“...the law will catch up to the hackers...”

nah. this will be forgotten because left wingers can do no wrong as they are officials of the revolutionary army who are above the law and besides, they know lots of lawyers.

IMHO

This seems like a job for the FBI and Secret Service.

Seems like too many hackers are stupid stuck in the teen years flunky’s who have never had to account for anything.

Bout time they realized this isn’t about pitching a political temper tantrum. This is serious serious business.

I said it on the other thread, and I’ll repeat it here:

Does anyone really think anyone will ever be punished, let alone caught?

BULL!

These people represent the majority of the American Sheep, so their actions are validated.

Leftists are absolutely amazing... but not in a good way. The double standard is alive and well with the liberals.

What was the excuse (basis) used for Roe v Wade? Privacy.

Privacy has been bantered about by liberals for many years.

Yet direct invasion of someone’s privacy for their own political gain... no problem.

This is so absolutely disgusting.

Wow, I went out for a couple of hours to volunteer and all heck breaks loose.

My husband works with a lot of former Secret Service people who did protection details. He is out of town today, but I will get the skinny on what they might do. I do know that the have a cyber-crimes unit.

Just a thought, Obama asked his people to lay off Sarah Palin’s family. It doesn’t say much for his leadership skills when they pull this kind of garbage does it?

These are the same lowlifes who illegally hacked into Michael Steele’s credit reports. Then the two individuals who carried out that operation got “fired” and continued to get paid for several months thereafter (until after the election, I believe.)

Think that it's not the Rat Party (formerly the traditional, patriotic Democratic Party) doing this?

Recognize the name Bob Beckel?

Following the 2000 elections Rats tried to blackmail Electoral College delegates not bound by state law. Last I heard Beckel was one of the blackmailers.

Also 2000, Al Gore's henchmen told MSNBC that "if they don't get the [Florida] result they want . . . they'll make Katherine Harris pay with her career and her reputation."

See here for that and more blackmail info.

All I can say is that when they catch the people who did this (and they better), they better prosecute them to the fullest or why bother to send Congress back to Washington to write more meaningless laws?

I heard on Slashdot that Anonymous was responsible for the hacking, and giving out the material to the blog sites that published it. I have mixed feelings on them. On one hand, I’m loving their whole anti-Scientology crusade. On the other hand, when they get off that track, their other stunts tend to be immature at best, and downright illegal at worst. This is actually kind of surprising, considering that overall, they tend to be extremely pro-privacy, but then again in a group as large as they are you’re going to find conflicting moral and political views, so I’m wondering if they’ve officially sanctioned this, or there are just people doing it and using the group’s name to deflect attention from themselves.
