I'm sure everyone is familiar with the media saying things like "no Republican ever won in the last 80 years without carying the Irish vote".
What is the meaning of this? Are there not enough unique factors in an election to render this meaningless?
We hear this thing every election. Now surely there are some examples of this that are perfectly logical and sound. Such as it's unlikely to win without flordia. That's basic math and pretty clear.
So I hear this morning on the radio some commentator saying "no incumbant party has won with such a narrow lead at this point in the race". My reaction is, so? What does that mean?
Clearly you are less likely to win if you don't win Florida for obvious reasons. Why are you less likely to win if no incumbant party has ever won without a bigger lead at this point in the election? What is the logic to this?
The whole world has changed and especially America. Since the 60’s, the Dims and leftists have made major inroads into American media and culture and universities. That has skewed perceptions. What the Dims don’t realize is the sometimes “Bradley effect” because of the poisonous political correctness fascism.
I don’t go to demonstrations, I don’t make a lot of noise and parade around and wear funny clothes and carry big signs and throw trash cans through Starbuck’s windows, but I send money to my candidates and I vote. I really show up at the voting booth rather than just fulminate and march around screaming and dropping my pants. You should be very glad about the last part.
Since the adoption of the 23rd amendment, giving the District of Columbia electoral votes, no Democrat has won the White House without carrying the District of Columbia.
That’s what I’m asking about. So? What does this mean really? Is this meaningfull?
Conservatives don’t protest because we’re working!

There is a county in Oregon which has voted for the winner every election for a very long time (maybe even since the county was created) but that doesn't guarantee it will vote for the winner in 2008.
