None of these pieces of political wisdom is infallible. Missouri has voted for the winning candidate every election since 1904, but each election is a new ball game. The person with the most popular votes had also won the most electoral votes every election since 1892, until Gore failed to do so in 2000.

There is a county in Oregon which has voted for the winner every election for a very long time (maybe even since the county was created) but that doesn't guarantee it will vote for the winner in 2008.
