There is a run on gas going on in SC, TN and possibly Fl.

I’m going to bed...
One thing we have here in TN outside of the best Interstates as voted by the truckers is a fixed tax on gas. All proceeds go to road improvement. I have a notion that isn’t happening in most states.
Gas wholesale over $5.00/gal in the gulf region right now.
Short term impact until the refineries can open back up and get the pumps pumping and trucks rolling.
That really wasn’t my point and I’m sure prices will skyrocket. I filled up. I’m just saying that the taxes on gasoline is being wasted in states that don’t dedicate them to roads. Tennessee has the best roads in the nation hands down. If all the states dedicated their gas revenue to roads it would all be good.
I, politely, disagree. Overall, Texas’ roads make Tennessee’s look like a back alley. LOL
And, no, I don’t live in Texas.
Pfft. JB Hunt and Swift type drivers like it ‘cause it’s long and they can leave the cruise on and not have to do technical things like shift or turn. Plus, they have Pre-Pass, don’t even have to stop at the scales. LOL
Not sayin’ Tennessee’s roads are bad, but Texas’ are, overall, better. I could truck in Tx. forever and not want to leave.
BTW, I trucked for many years. Just sold my company Mar 06, trucks, trailers, everything.
Hey, you know anyone at RNC? I was just downloading their Biden videos and saw that someone has hacked their video selection and added some porn. LOL. I’m trying to call and send emails, there isn’t a contact phone number, either, on their domain registration.
I was pumping at 3.669 while he changed the sign to 4.09
Well, here in Kingsport TN, last night regular unleaded was $3.62. This morning I just filled up for $3.99 and every single gas station was lined up with people waiting to get gas.
That’s a .37 cent increase overnight and the gas station managers expectation was it will go to the $4.50-$5.50 range by this evening.
It was $3.88 a gal in Millington last night (Thurs). Drove 10 miles up the road and it was $3.44. HMMMMM
I’m glad I filled up last night. We are at 3.89 this morning. a thirty cent increase since 10:30 last night.
On 9/11 I got word the gas pipeline was to be or soon to be shut down.
Fuel has incresed to over $4 per gallon in and around the Great Smoky Mountains. From Sevierville to Townsend.
This is not a panic - it is gouging fed by local gas stations who are blowing smoke up consumer’s behinds.
40-60 cent jumps here in Arkansas that I know about. Governor has declared state of emergency to combat price gouging.
Haven’t heard anything about long lines (and with the price jumps - probably won’t).
But the last I heard yesterday- gas supplies were 20 days. I would kind of see some shortages if the supply was down to a week or so... but not 20 days.
But this should be yet another clear sign of why we need MORE refinery capacity - via refineries spread around the country... so we don’t have this sort of insane panic when 16% of capacity is closed for a few days.
Gas up a dollar here in GA, since 8 this morning...
Here in Raleigh NC gas at the corner station was $3.62 this am when I took my son to school at 7:45. I just went past it at 3 pm and it had increased to $4.89. No lines but I was stunned that there were actually a handful of people filling up at that price.
Today, Friday, gas prices here in Blairsville GA were about the same - maybe a dime higher than yesterday. But the talk of inflated prices and gas lines in nearby NC and TN have sent people in a semi-panic here. Every gas station I passed here today had full lines, 2-3 deep waiting. I needed normal errand fuel, but managed to pull in my closest station just in time to get an opening.
But people were already upset, and for no good reason. As I said, the prices were normal so far today.
