Bill Clinton Named Chairman of Constitution Center Tuesday, September 9, 2008 2:29 PM PHILADELPHIA — Former President Bill Clinton has been named the next chairman of the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, succeeding former President George H.W. Bush, the center announced Tuesday. Bush has been chairman of the museum and nonprofit group, dedicated to educating the public about the U.S. Constitution, since January 2007. Clinton will begin his term on Jan. 1. Both men have long ties to the museum, which sits in Philadelphia's historic section near the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. As president, Clinton backed its establishment and spoke at its groundbreaking. Bush last year gave the museum his World War II service revolver. The two former presidents received the institution's Liberty Medal in 2006 for their efforts to help victims of Hurricane Katrina and the tsunami that struck in southeast Asia.

It is ironic if not tragic that the Constitution’s limited and enumerated powers do not permit Federal funds to be spent on a Constitution Center.

Why, as a direct result of the stained blue dress, WJC has an intimate (excuse the expression) knowledge of the 4th and more especially the 5th Amendments. Also his presidential copy of the annotated US Constitution made a fine door stop when he was eying interns.
