IMO, the RNC and Conseervatives can forget this race unless they focus on the absolute train wreck that the DEMOCRAT'IC' CONGRESS has been since being elected in 2007.

Pointing out that Congress is responsible for SPENDING all the money and BLOCKING key legislation to make our country safer and more prosperous is crucial. Obama wants to blame Bush, who doesn't write the checks, CONGRESS DOES!!!

I have been saying for months that the Republicans need to run a coordinated national campaign against the "do nothing, good for nothing" Democrat controlled Congress.

The last Congressional approval poll I have seen had Congress down to a 9% approval rating. The problem is that more than half of the voters have no clue that the Democrats control Congress.

This is what I've been saying all along. The country wanted change and look what we got. We need a Republican administration in the white house but we also need a Republican congress that we can work with to get things done! This post needs to be passed around.

You are so right. There was an opinion or editorial piece at the Washington Times I saw somewhere on their online edition today that basically makes the same point, but mainly was aimed that the dangers of a "3 house sweep" which basically would turn the U.S. into a western version of France literally overnight.

So they were also urging the importance of going after congress, but perhaps from a different angle by emphasizing what it is going to mean if we lose the presidential election and allow DNC to capture all three branches of government.

This line of attack would present an excellent and powerful new front to attack Obama/Biden, because linking Obama and Biden to the tax and spend, anti-war, anti-victory, anti-surge Democrat/Socialist Congress they actually represent and are proud members of would destroy all this foolishness about "change". Obama/Biden simply represent having a lot more of the same liberal mess, only tons more of it.

You mentioned unemployment. Predictably, after forcing small businesses to raise wages (minimum wage hike) jobs have been lost as companies cut hours and were forced to "do more with less" by reducing staff in order to remain competitive. We warned them, but they did it anyway.

It is "interesting" that the push for a minimum wage hike always seems to happen so that the results (lost jobs) hit home right around the time of a major election. Isn't it? Surely the Democrats are not so callous that they would purposely cause unemployment so they could blame it on the President and win an election, would they? Banish the thought! /sarcasm

Yes, I don’t know why, when the dems and the media go into their blaming the recent economic troubles on Bush, McCain doesn’t just point his finger right at congress for how THEY have screwed things up with their profligate spending and especially their decision to restrict offshore drilling for the last 3 decades. The current prices of oil and gas are just killing the economy, and it is NOT Bush’s fault.
