..having a black Mormon give the invocation covers two groups in one in the Republican big tent...

It seems like just yesterday I was watching him and his teammates John Stockton and Karl Malone playing the Lakers in the 1988 Playoffs. Where has the time gone? 20 years? Oy!

Probably...but it's only the first day, and as one local Los Angeles broadcaster proved this morning, no matter what Hurricane it is, or where it is, the word is right on the tip of the tongue - Katrina. Right or wrong, that's how it is.

Convention is in recess for one hour. To reconvene at approximately 5:03pm EDT.

My guess is the Bradley Effect will largely be offset by the number of new voters the RATs have signed up. There will also be even more fraud this year than usual, I am afraid.

To be truly confident that we will win, I think we need a lead of at least 3 or 4 points heading into election day. It is going to be tough, but if we continue to run an excellent campaign, we can get it.

Our political opponents and the liberal media have no shame. Yet I am hoping that their derisive behavior has emboldened all of us to work towards McCain/Palin and victory in November. Let them eat their words.

I don’t know about anyone else but I’ve been stressed these couple of days after the excitment of the Palin pick. There is a HIGH possibility we will lose in November and that just kills me. I don’t want to think that we could be seeing the last of Sarah Palin on the National stage come November or another long 4 years..
Ugh... I just have this really $hit feeling in my gut for 2+ days now and also started smoking again.

You’ve got to learn more about the Lady, she’s great, been a sports announcer, she’ll be fine with all the big mouths and media.

I'm watching the great Jon Voight with Neil Cavuto.

I'm happy he's on our side.

Good. He and Rush and TGO need to be on every day through this election;the stakes are too high.

Rush can do his golf thing after the election.

Yep, Mary Matlin is Hannity’s guest, and she’s explaining how her husband James Carvelle doesn’t know which way to go, Mary also mention the ‘Breck Girl’, and now we have a real Woman, calling Her Sarah Barracuda several times. Hannity just mentioned her name at a speech on Friday and got a standing ovation for that, to which Sean jokes he will continue just saying Sarah Palin

"There's far too few people here," said Lennie Major, a teacher from Mounds View. "We should have 10 times this many. This will only be a blip."

Translation:

How come nobody showed up? Things must not be as bad as "The One" has said it is.
